Unless they've been advanced to e-2 or e-3 their still called seaman recruit. Once they reach e-2 they'll be called seaman apprentice, at e-3 it's seaman. Usually they will be called by what group or job they've opted for. In construction field it's construction man recruit, in aviation its airman recruit, in engineering (ship propulsion) it's engine man recruit, for all others it reverts to seaman recruit. if they have a specific job (rate) they are called by their rate first then recruit, or apprentice, or just the rate. The only exception is hospital corpsman, this rate does not use the recruit or apprentice after the rate name.

Typicaly it's the title of their rank. Same for any other branch.
But there are nicknames like everyone else posted.
The nicknames are to each his/her own.
