If you're doing gcse maths, then you are probably being steered towards AAT which is a 3 year course. If you succeed in that you can either stay an 'accounting technician' or if you've grown in the meantime it will enable you to jump into the second year of one of the chartered accountancy courses. So, from here and now to a chartered accountant is 5 years assuming you pass every unit. You will also have to do Continuing Professional Development to demonstrate that you are up to speed with new development and taxation rules.

It's always possible that somewhere along the line you'll find something more interesting. Qualified accountants work in many other management roles.

If you are sufficiently self disciplined, you might consider doing some Open University units or a certificate, diploma or degree. http://www.open.ac.uk

I think it is very good that you have decided to pursue a career and gain qualifications. The Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants is the main UK body and below is a link to their website. Start there as you may not need to go through all of the studies you listed in your question.

If you decide to become a CPA, then you will have about six years of schooling. CPA's can make about 100 K, a year. If you do this in five years, you could be very well off.

You have to do loads of accountancy exams as well, they can take years, but it depends on what type of accountant you want to be. There is more than one type.

You should speak to your school's careers advisor.
