Kinda like the Olympics with all the different god representatives competing against each other i.e. Christian, Jewish, Buddhist. There could be a gold medal for who can bring back the dead soonest... and the "smit" challenge and healing the sick. I know I'd buy a ticket

I was asked why i can't be serious... I thought religion was serious to believers? I thought these feats I mentioned were possible and in fact done? So, then, seriously, in all seriousness if Gods and religions can do these things why don't you put up or shut up!!! and another !

We can have this daily, in our own lives if we have the faith in God.
As God has given everyone the measure of faith, we (Christians) should see Him working in our lives day by day. Many miracles occur but sceptics and atheists think they can explain them away, not to do so would force them into a position which is anathema to them.

BTW we are told about such a competition, Joshua vs the prophets of Baal. The Baalites ranted and raved all day, no result. Joshua said a simple prayer A great fire ball falls out of heaven sacrifice, wood, water and stones dissapear in a great cloud of smoke. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob win by a country mile.

Many other examples in the bible too. I'll put my faith in Him, not on my wisdom or reasonings, or. on what many call 'wisdom'.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH THE WINNER? We know what happened to Jesus - maybe people would try the same again? Or would acknowledge the claim He has on you?

There is a simple way of settling this issue about who is the true God. Why is it that the most advanced and prosperous countries are Christian, Islamic or Jewish?

We already have Olympic games of disabled people, who can achieve much less than healthy athletes, Now Olympic Games of the nonexistent would be a bore, with nothing happening, don't you think?

Jesus did miracles that validated his claims. The miracles were recorded in the Scriptures. There is no need for more miracles. We have the historic record. That is enough.

For the true Christian - I don't mean the fair-weather type who wears a mark on the seat of a pew each week for thirty years, can be seen with the wearing the bonnet once a year, and who makes sure the ding-ding-ding of their money hitting the collection plate is heard - No,
I am talking about the true Christian, the one
who you may not see in the pew; the one
who cares enough to know and understand what GOD has to say in His Word, rather than what some Pastor or Priest has to say,
or what Kirk Cameron has to say, or what
the Pope has to say - but what God has to say. We see the demonstration of Gods powers every single day of our lives. Then, you might ask, why doesn't the rest of the World see them? Because they don't have eyes to see - spiritual eyes. Most of the World today wouldn't know God if He reached down and smacked them on the asss.
The reason you do not see the types of miracles performed as you read of in Scripture, is because obviously Christ is not here in the flesh today, but more than that, you don't see them because at that time the New Testament Writings, inspired of God just as the Old Testament was, was
being prepared - meaning that what you read of was all for teaching. Christ doing healings were a teaching - the Apostles doing healings - was a teaching. Each and every single thing done and said that you read of in the New Testament is all a teaching. Even while Christ hung on the Cross he was teaching. Many people think that when He said (I will translate) "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" - that He was feeling left alone by God: NOTHING COULD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH. First of all, He NEVER called Him "God" - Jesus ALWAYS referred to God as "Father"; what he was doing was teaching you and I that at that very moment, He was fulfilling Scripture written a thousand years prior - He was reciting Psalms 22 and 23, which fore-told of the crucifiction - not a vague foretelling; but an
actual description of everything, right down to what people would be doing at the foot of the Cross, and in detail.
Christ is and was a teacher.
But about today, right now in 2007:

Its written that we are here in the flesh because of something that happened even before Adam and Eve came on the scene:
Satan rebelled and caused a war. All of us were already created souls then, and many of our people followed Satan; others stayed neutral and didn't even care as long as it didn't affect them. I am being really
concise here, but in a nutshell, we are here in the flesh because instead of destroying all of those people who didn't respond very much in Gods favor during that war, it was decreed by God that each soul would come thru this flesh age to make an ultimate decision of who they would follow: Christ or Satan. Not only for those who followed Satan, but also for those who stayed neutral, this would force them to make that decision, and each of us will make the decision either by word or by deed - we will each make it.
My answer to you is this:
If God were to show himself, or perform
miracles so that all people on Earth would see Him for who He is, people would all be
acting pretty damn well, because they would see that if they don't, they will not make it.
This is not what God wants: He wants each soul to show their true colors - He wants those who are good and decent and believing on him, WHEN THEY DON'T SEE HIM. When the cats away, the mice will play. Well, the mice are playing quite a bit as you can see. They don't believe there is a God, and so they are showing those true colors quite vividly in this generation.

This is of their own doing - they will be weeded out and gone, period. We are going into the eternity and its for the long haul. We do not want any of this crap to repeat itself there, and I assure you, it won't exist. We don't want people "acting", we want those who are trully acceptable and
true to Our Heavenly Father WHETHER OR NOT HE IS HERE.

Have you ever heard the saying: if you give someone enough rope they will hang themself with it"??? There ya go......
They've got the rope, they've got the time,
and they've got the emphatic Word of the Living God. With that, they will either demostrate they are worthy of eternal life,
or they are not. Thats pretty simple, now isn't it??? For those who think that someday they may get around to thinking about giving their soul to God, I have some
news for them: GOD ALREADY OWNS IT.

Your post makes this life and the idea of God look like some kind of funny joke. Its
far from a joke; its a life and death decision that you are making. You will make this decision either by word or by deed, but I assure you that you will make it. If you want some kind of side-show healing or religious circus-act, you can find plenty of them with the false teachers you see on tv
constantly. They will have a woman throwing her cane down that she's needed for fifty years, and run around the room yelling and waving arms. Circus shows.
If thats good enough for you, I am sure
you can get a ticket to any one of them.
Don't forget your checkbook, because they
also want to worship at the opening of your wallet.
God is not interested in circus side-shows,
and neither are the people of His true, many-membered Body.

Because then we would have proof that he exists and we would no longer need faith. Without faith god cannot exist so, if he proved that he existed he would no longer exist
