Isn't it hilarious that an atheistic society will not pay out an insurance claim because something is considered an "Act of God" !!

Funny old world eh !!

Because, evidently, one of them is not the Truth, isn't it? Now, your nick reads Sanathana Dharma. In the Sanathana Dharma, the most basic tenet is - "Deivehah nirguna, nirakara." God[hood/head] is beyond intellectual and physical perception. What would this convey to you? If you go the route of the Science of Vedic Mathematics, which is the Pundits or the Scholars path, you would reach the inevitable conclusion that the Absolute, which is the only thing that could have made all this and is the essence of all Existence, cannot be measured nor expressed in terms of the Relative and the Temporal. As you probably know, Vedic Mathematics requires you to be accurate up to 16 decimal points in your computations. However, because this path was too rigorous and intellectually demanding for the common man, the largest majority of the people went for the worship of their ichcha devas or Gods of their Personal Choice and created a host of of tales and myths, more often than not, mixing in elements from other cultures - resulting in the mess that we now know as Hinduism. Even the most basic of the theories - the relationship between the Universal Consciousness - the Parama Atma and the individual Soul - the Atma, got divided into two camps - the one that contended that both were one and the same, at once One and Several, divided only be the veils of Maya - the Adhwaitha or Monist School; and the one that contended that they were separate entities where the Atma would merge with the Paramatma only when it had shed the mortal coil - the Dhwaitha or the Dualistic School. And then there was one more - the Vishisthadhwaitha that mixed up elements of both these schools and made their own contention. Now, can all these be the Truth or can only One of them be the Truth, or can they all be wrong and the Truth be something totally different? We don't know and shall only know when the time comes for us to leave this mortal coil and go into the Unknown, if at all we are really going to do that. Till then, your guess is as good as mine. Om Shanthi. :-)

As I said before Creationism has not excluded Science, except Science that is not positive, Science is spoken in the Scriptures in many sections. But there are Sciences which are in opposition to what true development means.

Christians look at the Solar System and they can not deny Astrological Science there. But to build a star ship and go to the moon doesn't prove any development or knowledge of Astrological Science.

To develop the compas as Astrological North proves a development in Astrological Science.

Science is the reason why we have one moon, and not two, one sun and not two.

Medicine is a gift of God in a time of Tribulation. We have got many gifts given to mankind in the form of men, and discoveries, to get by in this Tribulation, and the men have always put a tag price on them and sold it for profit, and even use these gifts to alter them and turn them in weapons of destruction.

How much money is made today in medicine, with false pretenses, false researches, and malpractice?

So are many Sciences and Studies only a bunch of lies,

History (undisclosed truths hidden forever)
"World's history is yesterday's World lies"

Archeology (The legend of a bone) not all, but many made up stories for money and fame.

Botanics (true and promising Science)

and so on there are good things and bad things, but basically the bad things fall under the "money, fame and power categories".

I'm not particularly religious but I do know that scientists can no more explain where the 'big bang' came from than religious people can explain where 'God' came from.
I don't find it particularly hilarious if I take advantage of modern medicine or use a computer. Were I religious, then I would assume God had designed such developments. Were I not religious then I might ask myself, if human beings are so clever, why do we keep killing each other and the planet?'

SCIENCE IS ELIMINATING MODELS OF GOD BUT NOT GOD

Francis Bacon, the famous philosopher, has rightly said that a little knowledge of science makes man an atheist, but an in-depth study of science makes him a believer in God. Scientists today are eliminating models of God, but they are not eliminating God. If you translate this into Arabic, it is La illaha illal la, There is no god, (god with a small ‘g’ that is fake god) but God (with a capital ‘G’).
Surah Fussilat:
"Soon We will show them our signs in the (farthest) regions (of the earth), and in their own souls, until it becomes manifest to them that this is the Truth. Is it not enough that thy Lord doth witness all things?"
[Al-Quran 41:53]
QUR’AN AND MODERN SCIENCE

The methods of proving the existence of God with usage of the material provided in the ‘Concept of God in Islam’ to an atheist may satisfy some but not all.

Many atheists demand a scientific proof for the existence of God. I agree that today is the age of science and technology. Let us use scientific knowledge to kill two birds with one stone, i.e. to prove the existence of God and simultaneously prove that the Qur’an is a revelation of God.

If a new object or a machine, which no one in the world has ever seen or heard of before, is shown to an atheist or any person and then a question is asked, " Who is the first person who will be able to provide details of the mechanism of this unknown object? After little bit of thinking, he will reply, ‘the creator of that object.’ Some may say ‘the producer’ while others may say ‘the manufacturer.’ What ever answer the person gives, keep it in your mind, the answer will always be either the creator, the producer, the manufacturer or some what of the same meaning, i.e. the person who has made it or created it. Don’t grapple with words, whatever answer he gives, the meaning will be same, therefore accept it.

What's hilarious is that some people don't realize that knowledge of or belief in scientific "truth" (evolution, I take it) is not in the least necessary to use either computers or modern medicine. It is an absolute essential, though, if one wishes to teach Evolution.

SOME religious people do as you say. As a Christian and a trained scientist I can see how they both have their place.
What I do find hilarious is how non-religious people seem to think they know more about religion that religious ones.
It is true that many religious people suffer from 'a little learing is a dangerous thing' but so do people who criticise them!

I don't know what kind of 'religious' people you have met, but I can assure you that Christians have no need to fear science. We are free to believe that God has given us a brain for a reason and that science can be one His ways of improving lives.
And be careful what you call 'truth'. There's a lot of unproven theories about that masquerade as truth, whereas true science demands that proof be given.

As an atheist I am wondering, why? The church use to be the fore front of science - there was a phrase God is the Lord Scien, Scien being knowledge. Just because they reject or question some science doesn't mean they have to reject all science and technology.

They also seem to over look massive contradictions in religious books such as the bible, they follow some parts to the letter and yet, when challanged about others they claim "that part is not to be taken literally".

Just think about it, they only have one life on this planet and yet they have spent the vast majority of their life praying and worshipping something that doesn't exist.

It's such a shame they will be dead when they find out the whole thing is complete and utter rubbish.

If i'm wrong then i still have nothing to worry about because (apparently) in the eyes of god we are all equal, so that means i still get the same treatment in heaven as they do.lol

Looks like i win either way.
