No, I generally only go to parties where I know I will know several people, but it depends on the occation.
Is food one of the main objectives?
No. I don't go to parties just for the food. However, if it's a party that I kind of must attend even though I don't really want to, then the food is a good compensation and a good way how to get through the party without dying of boredom.
Do you notice the effort the host/hostess makes towards decor and whatnot?
Yes.
Do you care about decor?
No.
How close of a friend do you have to be to the host/hostess to actually go to their party?
I have to know them pretty well. I don't go to parties of distant relatives and other people who I don't know much on a personal level.

Yes.

Friend gatherings. I chose my friends, not my relatives. I know and like my friends and usually have something in common with them. I can't say the same about many of my family members.
How often would you rather not attend the company party or are yours good?
I'd prefer skipping them, but I usually go anyway for the sake of my career or to avoid never-ending questions about why I never go to them.

Music, food, drinks, friends....and meeting new people - that's what makes a GREAT party for me. Decor is not really important, but the house better be clean...esp. the bathroom!
As for company parties, thumbs down. If I attend, it is only out of obligation. Don't we spend enough time with these people during the day, without it having to ruin our nights and weekends too?!?

I like a mass of people I don't know and a small group I do.Conversation,dancing and I'm happy
No,here in Italy all they have is food,boring!
Yes I notice but it isn't important for me.
I'm famous for going just about anywhere I'm invited.
If I don't want to go,I say so.
Sorry I'm not very diplomatic,if I don't like the food,I don't eat.
I have no family and my husband's lot is not the partying type,so friends.
I teach Yoga,here in Italy, it's customary to go out at the end of the year.I teach in two separate cities,one I go out with them often,the other,not on your life,I can barely stand them in lesson!

when i don't know many folks i look straight for the bar. LOL
also i enjoy the food. i may comment about decor to make conversation.
i would go to a party even if i din't know a soul if i was going with someone like my husband or a best friend.
i love company parties. they are usually fun.

Alcohol, Food, Music, Women and more alcohol....in that order. Who cares what the place looks like. I'll make friends if I don't know a lot of people.
