Single point focus, breath awareness, Sponge position (on my back), not following thoughts.

I used to (many years ago) have to count breaths, but now I just put my mind in my stomach or lower back and wait.

The rising energy and feeling seems to release light - golden light, and by the end (40 - 50 mins) I am flooded with it. This is always accompanied by convulsions, sometimes violent, but always controllable.

I first learned of it in an acting class. It was called centering then. Once I got it, I have never let go.

I have taught myself to meditate since I was 12 years old.I lie down and close my eyes and starting with my feet and going up my body,I tell and feel the parts of my body relax all the way up to my head.I listen to a sound that may be in the room,I clear my mind and think of my made up place, its a room with a big window that looks out over the ocean I sat on a white couch and forget all my negative feelings or troubles and think of how beautiful the ocean is.I don't tell my brain to relax only my head,if I tell my brain to relax I go to sleep.
I have tried other ways, but this always works for me probably because I have been doing it for over 30 years.

(Many blessings)
