And thats when I saw 2 buffalo running and out of NO WHERE! came this black guy trying to tame them by putting commands on them. Buffalos symbolize something that is fleeting (almost extinct) and need to be protected. They were also a symbol of power and a source of life (food) to Native Americans. A white buffalo is a symbol of hope. A dark or dull brown buffalo symbolizes unenlightened or depressing earthiness or denial of the spirit. This in itself says a lot about where you are mentally. You feel that you are running out of time on something. You hope things will work out (white buffalo), but your spirit is being beaten down (brown buffalo).

I think this is all related to the fact that you have only dated white men the last 15 years. You have an 18 yr old black son, and realize that he needs positive black male role models. Because you have always dated white men, he has not had this. You may feel that it is now too late to provide him with this. Your are struggling with the decisions you have made, and think maybe it's time to date black men. However, you do not trust them. You feel that they will cheat on you (harem of women and ex-girlfriends in the dream), and that you will no longer fit into that culture (being told you did not fit in, and being self conscious about your appearance in the dream). The mother in the dream is probably your own mother in real life. She is supportive choices (to leave) but wishes you wouldn't (she wishes you'd find a black man). The natural herbs and healing products the girl gave you in the dream is another symbol of earthliness and spirit. You feel that your spirit in some way needs to be healed before you can date black men again. Difficulty crossing the highway and avoiding cars in the dream is your difficulty with this choice. You think you will have a hard time finding a "good" black man, and are likely to be run over by them. Same with the black man beating the brown buffalo. You think a black man would beat down your spirit. The white buffalo disappears in the dream (or runs off) because you are losing hope in this situation.

The buffalo looking like wooly mammoth is another symbol of extinction. They are not just fleeting, but there time has completely past and they are totally extinct. Your time to provide a black male spouse (boyfriend) who would have been a positive influence on your son while he was growing up is gone. It's too late for that now. Just date whoever you are comfortable with and as long as they are "good men", treat you well, and don't trample your spirit, their race is irrelevent.

I don't really know what to say about this one, but if the guy in the dream is someone you admire in real life, I don't think it sounds like you have much of a future with him, with all these other girls telling you you should leave, but even more so that he is trying to command the buffalo into submission, and beating up one of the buffalo. I am having a little trouble trying to see a clear story in this, but here is the definition of buffalo from dreammoods.com
Buffalo
To see a buffalo in your dream, symbolizes survival. The dream may warn that you are go off your life path.
(If the buffalo are blocking your path, they may be trying to tell you to turn back...)

To see an injured or killed buffalo, forewarns that you must not accept any new ventures.

To see a herd of buffalo in your dream, signifies tranquility and plentitude.

Brown
Brown denotes worldliness, practicality, domestic and physical comfort, conservatism, and a materialistic character. Brown also represents the ground and earth.
(This guy is beating up on the brown buffalo, doesn't sound good......)
White
White represents purity, perfection, peace, innocence, dignity, cleanliness, awareness, and new beginnings. You may be experiencing a reawakening or have a fresh outlook on life. However, in Eastern cultures, white is associated with death and mourning.

(The white buffalo has left, this also doesn't sound good)

That the "girl's club" is telling you that you don't fit in, yet offering you tools for healing on your way out, gives me the impression that this guy has a past track record with women that is not good, and they are trying to discourage you from becoming one of them. In particular the women gave you shampoo to heal your hair, the condition of your hair is a reflection of the condition of your thoughts about this guy....

Since you are part Native American, you should see if you can find someone who can interpret the Buffalo as a Native American symbol for you, I am not sufficiently knowledgeable about Native American symbology, only enough to know that the Buffalo is a strong symbol, and White Buffalo in particular is very meaningful.....

Firstly Don't worry! Dreams are mostly your inner mind flagging things for you to pay attention too. As it can't speak in a booming voice it uses powerful symbols to show you what it wants you to pay attention too.

Lets break the dream down and see what your sub-concious is telling you.

You started your dream with a strong attraction/love but before you can enjoy this feeling it is threatened by other women.
This is your anxiety that if you do fall in love you aren't attractive enough to keep the object of your affection from paying other women attention. This is a normal fear.
However reading between the lines you seem to perceieve that your paticular ethnic background is your hinderance. I would think that this is a very deep seated fear from earlier in your life.

Your ethnic background is irrelevant, you are the person you are as unique as everyone else and he loves you for that.

You then fear that his family represented by his mother despite her concious reassurances to you that deep down she too harbours reservations. (The ex girlfriends persuade her to let you go) pretty simply your sub concious then tells you to pamper yourself to calm these fears (shampoos etc.)

You begin to climb hills (which represent your problems) you reach a highway I've struggled with this part.

It represents one of two things:

1. A high way can take you to one destination or the other in two completely different directions like a crossroads and this could be your subconcious showing you a descision has to be made.

2. The highway represents an obstacle or hazard to be crossed to get to the other side and your final destination.

I feel it is the second representation.

As you cross two buffalo one white, one black threaten to trample you, but your love tries to tame them, still they approach and he resorts to beating the black one into submission to prevent you from being hurt.

This shows that you have anxiety avbout embarking on the relationship your sub-concious is showing you that you know that this love could be hurtful, that you fear your ethnic background could be a barrier to the relationship, but it also shows you that deep down you trust your love to keep these possible problems under control.

I think your own inner anxieties are at work in this dream and that is all your mind is wrestling with.

Love can hurt, for many reasons, but you must be brave and conquer your anxiety. Talk to your lover, tell him of your concerns, tell him you don't want him to solve this for you but that you want him to understand your fears and in doing so you will feel less anxious about your own worries.

Good Luck!
