Not that I'm planning to say it to anyone... Just having a debate with my friend last night on it, and wondered what other peoples experiences were?

It was prob after being with my now fiance for 2 months!! We'd had an arguement whilst out in town and were sitting next to each other sulking on the bus home. I text him saying Sorry and I love you!! I had to wait a painful 15mins until we got off the bus and he happened to look at his phone and told me he loved me too!!! That was nearly 4 years ago now......those were the days!!

Months had def. passed before I felt comfortable even thinking that I loved my boyfriend. I almost told him several times and felt like the biggest idiot for not being able to find the courage to say it. It actually pissed me off that I couldn't explain to him how I was feeling.

I got so frustrated (and was probably PMSing too) that we got into a fight over the phone about something stupid. I was crying and I went to this park near my house to go sulk on the swing set (it's what I do when necessary) He met me up there and this is like 10 at night or later. So we're sitting on this bench near the tennis courts, in the dark. Talking and trying to work whatever the problem was out...I was a total MESS from crying and I felt even worse because HE actually started crying! (And he is NOT the crying type, very masculine and a few years older than me!)

So we're both crying now and just starting to feel sorry any of the fight ever happened. I FINALLY told him I loved him when he hugged me. He said it right back (much to my relief). It was not how I would've imagined the first time I'd tell someone I'd fallen in love with them!

It's all good though. Going on 3 years now and still in love:)

Oh, I found out later he'd dropped some hints testing my reaction to see how I might handle the L word. Apparently he'd been trying to figure out when to say it too! I remember him sayin something like "That's what I love about you" and me, dummy, panicking and keeping very quiet. So he waited a bit longer...*sigh* those were the days

I met my boyfriend at the end of february 2006 and two weeks after I met him I got sent to America by my employers to work in the lab in Dallas for 6 weeks. I was totally head over heels for him and was so worried that he would find someone else whilst I was gone and before I went I said that to him. He more of less said it'd taken him this long to find me and he'd definately wait the 6 weeks so we could be together when I got back. Whilst I was there we spoke on the phone more or less every day and a couple of weeks in I sent him a letter telling him I'd fallen in love with him. Once he got it he told me he felt exactly the same. I was really scared that once I got back things would be different and that we wouldnt feel the same but the day I got back we spent together and realised that we really did love each other....... fast forward a year and a half (ish)... and we've just bought our flat together and are happier than ever :-) I will be forever grateful that I met him, I tell him I love him every day and I mean it with all my heart.

emm.. about 3 months I'd say that was about average we were falling asleep, I asked him to tickle my back as I love to have that done B4 I go to sleep, he said he was going to write a word on my back, and I had to read out the letters and spell the word... So I did and it was "I Love You", It made me really happy, but scared at the same time becoz I knew Ifelt something in-side me everytime Iwas with him, cared for him so much and could never get him out my mind, I then decided to pretend I was sleeping. When I woke in the morning I left a note say "me 2" he knew exactly what I meant, Then evrytime he said "I love you" I'd say "me 2" it was kinda like our little thing, shame were not together anymore.....Anyway good luck for when you and a special someone feel you are both ready to say it, it's the greatest feeling EVER ! xxx

Known each other for three months, together for two. I said it first. We got married last June 8 months after getting together and had a baby boy just over a year later.

personalley i've never said it. mainley cause i don't throw the phrase around like a lot of people seem to do. depending on the age of the couple. teenagers normally say it after about 2 to 3 months of dating. adults i'm sure are a different story.

My relationship has been very strong since the beginning. I said it first after 4 months since we got together, but he asked me to get married to him 2 months later ;-)

We'd been dating a few months, got into an argument on the phone. He asked why I cared what he did anyway and I told him because I love you you stupid SOB. How romantic, huh? First time I'd ever told a guy I loved him too. lol
