man my parents are so strict. sometimes i feel i'd be able to do more things in life if they just stop bugging in everything i do. I'm already 17 and never in my life did I experience a sleep over in a friend's house because they always think i might be visiting a girl's house (i'm a guy BTW). When going to the mall with my friends it takes quite a deal of talks before they agree. It might be ugly to hear but my family isn't exactly the best family in the world.
I really hate how they see other people as "bad" people. They always see the worst in other people even for my friends (even me!). One time they even said "hey , you better be sure that best friend of yours doesnt smoke weed , he looks too thin". They didnt even consider my thoughts and he's my best friend , i couldnt accept that they would talk bad things to their own son's friend.
Do you guys have any suggestions? If I pass the exam I'll be studying at Singapore , i think it's one way of solving this.

i just dont like how they see the world as one evil place. During a tour to China i was just making friends with some girls in the tour but they said "i dont like those girls , their dad is very stern when it comes to money" something like that. That's why i cant make friends when they're around.

the 18 yrs old and ur free law doesnt necessarily apply in Asia , like Taiwan for instance. Yes I'm free to do what I want but there's nothing I can do. I'm still in high school and I'm planning to go to college in Singapore. Just a thought , so I guess until I graduate here or move to Sinagpore , I'll be stuck at home

Believe it or not, they are just trying to keep you from getting into trouble. Young people don't realize how much of what they do as a teenage affects them for the rest of their lives. Your parents are just trying to protect you from making those types of mistakes.

So what if you are a guy? concern is concern and love for your child is love for your child, im glad your parents care about you and so what if they said what they said about your friend, its their opinion and stop being so sensitive kid, i can see why they dont let you out much you dont have tough skin, and you are whiner. They see the bad in people cause they want to protect you and bad people are a reality plus you are young and not all that wise in the ways of the world yet, not your fault, you are just young, there wil be plenty of time for you to get out and do things, they kept you in line this long and you are moving on to college because of it kid

Well it makes no sense to treat a 17 year old like that. You are so close to being a legal adult, how do they expect you to function when you are on your own? 13 is one thing, 17 is a different ballgame. Why do you put up with it? You'll be free in a matter of months.

i know there are lots of parent doesnt care about their son and daughter.
i know one girl she's 15 or 16. when i move this house she was just a small innocent girl. but 1 yr later (now) she totally changed. have relation with guys, play around, looking for new guy every single min.... she's physically veeeeeeery beautiful but .... you know?
she's totally changed. her parents are very busy and dont stay at home. she can do anything. she stay with boyfriend, cat and rabbit. her room is so dirty.
your parents know about those teenager. dont forget. your dad and mom were teenager before. they do know lots of things. and they want to protect you. they know easy to descent.
you said if you pass the exam you're going to singapore. its ok. but dont forget, your parents love you so much.

brother be cool while ur parents are bugging u, this is to show that u respect their feelings,then try to go in their way where it makes them understand that u love them and u respect their words, try to make them understand that this world cant be in their way the way they think. this may be hurting u for few days or till u take control of their thoughts and making them understand but be polite to ur parents till they understand and belive u that u r capable to sortout any kind of problems u face... May be u guys are just moving around things joviel but life is just not so easy to lead as ur way...
With experience im telling u that u have to see the world with experience but not with ur own views coz own things doesnot happen but leads into more trouble
Studying abroad is everybody's wish to make their career for future, but making parents happy and being with them noone can make it u should make your own meal to fulfill ur hungry...

Hi, i am a parent to! i think it al depends how your parents grew-up! If they grew up like me then i can understand a bit whey they are as stricked with you. Belive u me, i am Afrikaans and our parents and me aswell are very conservetive with good reason i think. And i promise you it is because they love you so much.
