i don't think that men can ever be truly committed. they can be married for years and still go off with someone else. look at chriss tarrant.
but by saying that he in a relationship, does mean that he's got a girl. so in a mans world that's commitment.

Pretty much committed and relationship should be in the same sentence, considering how long you have been together. But and I know you may not wish to hear this. But he may not feel all that committed to you though. I mean he is probably sticking with you because he hasn't really found someone more interesting. Or like this one guy I talk to online at times, he has been in a on and off relationship for 4 years with a chick. They are on again, and she is getting serious, but for him, he isn't really because he is seeing a chick he met in the bar one night after work. I mean she has a son too. But still he cares for her and stuff. And sure they haven't done the full on sexual stuff and he says they just might be friends, though the chick hasn't said anything about that yet. I mean its pretty bad, that this is happening but what can you do? So who knows your guy might feel not that attached to you, but he is sort of using you as a bit of a reserve. As before mentioned dude told me once "guys don't really think that much about being bf and gf". Because there is always room enough in the relationship, their minds, and in their lives for another interesting or better woman to come along. Bad to say but some guys really do see things this way. I think you should talk about where your relationship is now and where you could be headed. Because there is nothing worse than two people in a relationship but going in two totally different directions.

Don't panic! It means he's in a relationship with you, which he is. Simple as that. Doesn't mean he's looking for anyone else or isn't committed. He's stating to everyone that he is in a relationship, not a casual one but a committed one. Don't look for something that isn't there, in his answer.

In a relationship... committted
Lets not split hairs here, Im sure he's sorry he couldnt find the exact words you would have chosen, but its hardly worlds apart, is it? And further... if this is just something on facebook, what the hell difference does it make? He didnt put "single and looking" after all.
The fact this has even bothered you says volumes

Maybe he should say he's in a committed relationship but the fact that he's saying he's in a relationship means he's unavailable so that should be enough for you

It depends who he was talking to at the time if it was female then he may have been hinting that he is out there. But if a guy told me he was in a relationship with someone i would take the hint and back off,
