I'm not asking why I should have faith in him, just that there the existence of God. Why doesn't he communicate with us? Why are there no signs of a spiritual God then?

Why you should believe in God without proof: Simply put, because we all need to. Personally, I feel good to believe that there is someone up there watching out for us in this messed up world, a place for us to go and meet our loved ones after we pass on. He does communicate with us, just not obviously. He speaks thru our conscience, keeping us true. He speaks thru his followers and their actions, spreading the word and helping those in need. And there are signs of a spiritual God, just that we're not sure which ones to believe.
And with that said, the proof that a God or at least higher power must exist:
Try imagining the very very first split second in all of time. Now what came before that? Where time = 0s, there was absolutely nothing. And if there was nothing, then based on the Cause and Effect principle, theoretically nothing could happen. Yet something did. Proof that there is something that exists beyond the bounds of time.

You shouldn't ALL gods and they number in the thousands are the manifestation of males. There are and were female gods, oracles, priestesses and witch doc-traces, but there longevity depended on males.(IT'S A MANS WORLD). Just imagine how unknowing early man was in fact how unknowing mankind was a hundred years ago. Forces on the earth must have seemed monumental and deserved of monuments in the form of Gods. To name a few earthquakes WO what was that? Volcano's wow somebodies PISSED! Hurricanes,Tsunamis, tides, typhoons, red tides, all conjured Gods of the sea. LIGHTING,THUNDER, FLOOD, FAMINE, DR AUGHT, PESTILENCE and many more these THINGS could not be explained, and they are frightening. Gods were a easy way to explain the unexplainable. Now today we know a few things, we are at a watershed moment in our understanding of the universe, earth and our role on earth. But people want to hang on to the past, its really just a bad habit, a house of card's that WILL topple.

First of all look around you. Do you really think all this just 'happened'? GOD actually does communicate with us every second of every day of our lives. It's just that most of us are so out of touch with GOD and so busy with life that we literally can't see the forest for the trees. Ask anyone who has had their prayers answered. It's not just a coincidence that what you pray about tends to come to fruition if your are a true believer and a GOD fearing individual. If you have never had a prayer answered perhaps you should ask yourself why? PS.... I'm not a bible thumper at all, just a logical thinking member of the highest form of life known to be in existence.
I never used the word 'big' because every blessing is big. However, I have had so many blessings that they are too numerous to mention. The fact that GOD knew that I wanted and deserved healthy children and HE gave them to me is just one of many. Call it what you want but I am convinced of the fact that it is HIS doing.

There aren't any reasons to believe in god.
Gods were invented to explain the unexplainable... things like the sun, moon, and stars... day and night... thunder and lightening... sickness and death... and to answer profound questions like "What holds the sky up?"
For all of these questions, "God did it" has been replaced by real knowledge... and as a result, 'god' has been reduced from an all-powerful supernatural being to a 'God of the Gaps'... a cockroach-like creature that scurries from crack-to-crevice, looking for remaining patches of darkness and shadow in which to cower and hide from the glaring light of knowledge and understanding.
The fact that people continue to cling to this pitiable and pathetic 'god' is pathetic, to say the least... a testament to the enduring power of gullibility, irrationality, willful ignorance, self-delusion, intellectual dishonesty, hypocrisy and drooling stupidity.

When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior God's Holy Spirit will come and live in you to be your Teacher, Counsellor, Empoweror and many things else. You can then develop your relationship with the Holy Spirit who will talk to you and guide and empower you in your walk with God. Then you will know from your relationship with the Holy Spirit there is a God who is Spirit. I am writing this from my own experience. Taste and see that the Lord is good.

"Why should I believe that there is God?"
Absolutely no reason at all mainly cos there's no evidence that any invisible being(s) exist(s).
Who is doing the expectation on you telling you that you SHOULD do anything?
Are you aware that the use of Should, Ought and or Must implies someone else is pulling someone's strings?

It all depends on point of view.
I believe that God does communicate with me. If He isn't communicating with you, have you considered that you just may not be listening?
The same goes with the spiritual signs. Have you ever thought to open your eyes? (Spiritually, I mean.)
There is plenty of evidence if you are open to receive it. But if you go in with a closed mind, you will find only what you are looking for. (i.e., nothing.)

If there is evidence of a god then you should believe that there is a god.
Otherwise one should not believe and right now there is no evidence for the existence of a god.

Don't believe based on what someone else tells you. Believe because it doesn't make sense to you that He doesn't exist. Let yourself be broken inwardly. When you can mentally breach that barrier, things spiritual will begin to also make sense as well.
Obviously, this means God above all other considerations.
