Can't help you with the bear watching but can recommend a couple of things.
CN tower - if you book the restaurant at the top you jump all the queues and don't have to pay. We sat and ate a late lunch, the weather outside was beautiful and the views were stunning, the food was brilliant as well.
Go to Niagara on the Lake and Niagara Falls, they are an hour or so drive from Toronto and you would kick yourself if you went all that way and didn't visit such an icon!
Niagara on the Lake is a beautiful village that seems set in the past with picket fences and olde worlde charm. You can get a horse and carriage around it and visit a shop where they make fudge and chocolate on site.
Niagara Falls is amazing (but full of Japanese when we went) and best seen from the Maid of the Mist. You can also go behind the falls as well. Niagara Falls itself is quite tacky, like a very mini Blackpool and the main road is filled with daft shops and museams, so if you have kids they might quite like it.
Have a great time.

Toronto is one of the very multicultural diverse towns in the world and with hotelbye you can have the chance to visit it. Toronto is a blast, if the wheatear is excellent; is a lively, big-time town abuzz with activity. In Toronto you will find some of the world's best restaurants but also popular landmark. One of the places must-see from Toronto is the 553 yards CN Tower. Imposing above the downtown, the design is visible from very nearly all around the city. Visitors have the choice of simply appreciating the developing from the floor, or taking a trip as much as among the statement places or restaurants for wonderful views of the city and Lake Ontario. The CN Tower was created between 1972 and 1976 and was when, quite a while before, the tallest freestanding structure in the world.

I think the theme parks like MarineLand and Canada's Wonderland are still open to some extent (like weekends)

not many bears in the city are there. j/k
I have been there on vacation a few times, and we like the Hard Rock Cafe, CN Tower, Planet Hollywood, 2nd City, Eaton Center (I won't put re sorry) good bars.
Not sure about Bears, we never did that, but that would be pretty cool to see them not in a zoo.
