i lost my job in nov of 2004 and i drew unemployment in 2005 while looking for work but was unsusecssful so i gave up for a while then in 2006 i started looking again but kept getting turned down this was discuraging and i gave up again for awhile but i have been looking for the last few months again however i have not applied for any jobs as there have been none offered that i'm quilfied for or suit my needs for hours.

i really need income of my own at age 32 its embarrassing to have to depend on mom and dad and what i can make doing odd jobs for people.

i held down a job for 12 yrs but it was the only one i ever had and well losing it devestated me at the time and its taken me a very long time to get up my nerve again to really dive in and try for a job with all my might.

i do have disablity that keeps me from certain types of work.

i have almost finsihed a collage degree and i hope to finish that in the near future.

but how would you suggest i go about things?

Finding a job is a game of numbers. Keep trying and your number will come up.

You are studying and this makes a perfect excuse for not having worked for a while.

Secondly, if you are not working full-time then your choices of professional work is limited. You are a college student, do whatever for now. A job that uses your brain too much will distract you from study. Far better to just flip burgers, work on a check out. Maybe the work isn't great, but once you graduate then you can apply for something better.

Don't be a job snob, you can find something that will give you an income. You don't have to be shy, people ask you what you do, you say "I am studying computers"

Your study means you are already on your way to a new future. Now is just the desert you have to cross to the new oasis.

As for disabilities, employers can't discriminate against you and they should be able to get some financial assitance to help you work in their company.

Good luck, persistence pays off

You will not easily find work of this kind in Ireland. Being Canadian the Irish businesses simply will not hire you, there will always be an Irish person to take the job even if your visa permits working there. You need to have an occupation that is rare and in demand to do what you propose, high tech, medicine, veterinary, or something like that. You might get a farm job or something in hospitality but that would only be seasonal and not enough to live on. By all means, go to Ireland and visit, back pack, and tour for a summer. Then decide if it is where you want to put roots down. You will have better knowledge of the locale and maybe some contacts. But to answer your question, Glenbeigh Co. Kerry.

How about an answering service job? They are 24 hours so you would have a choice of hours and it dont take no degree to work there. Do you have transportation to where you could try the next town over for a job? Just keep trying honey, something will come to you. Good luck.

You could try Vocational Rehabilitation as they find jobs for people. Also apply at the state's Job Services. And, please learn to spell so that you can get some sit-down jobs. I have no idea what type of job you are looking for, or if it's specialized or not. Also look on snagajob.com

You didn't say what specialization your college degree is in, but maybe your school has a list of part time jobs on their bulletin board that you could try for as you finish your education. If you're near graduation then you need to start making contacts in your specialization.

I work with many patients that have disabilities and each one of them excels in other areas far beyond people without disabilities.
You know where your strengths are so use them to your advantage.
Find a trade or market that your small town is short of and that's where to begin.
If the service or product is in demand because of lack of competition you can work your school around the hours as you customers will be glad to wait for the product of service they 't get elsewhere.can\

If it really is a small town (relatively) and not much working oportunity, what I suggest you do is to make the oportunity. Meaning that you should open your own business. Doesn't have to be big, just ask your parents about what kind of business is good for the town.
Again, maybe you have to borrow money from them, but you can make them partners or such.

Good luck.

yeah i got english issues myself. capital letters for one. the hardest part about working is looking for a job. that makes it tough to get going. if computers is your thing you should be ok. maybe you can work at home im not sure what part of computers your in but its pretty wide open. try thinking outside the box. you know get creative, theres all kinds of things out there.

Just keep looking, with disabilities it can be hard because "technically" an employeer can't not hire you for that but it's like they find other reasons.

Look for a Union job maybe.
