All of the above. Though, most often through the deeds of others.

Did you know that several people and I communicate with a spirit? Did you know that that spirit is a holy spirit? Did you know that He is THE Holy Spirit? Did you know that that spirit is the spirit of Jesus Christ Himself? Did you know that we cannot see Him but we can hear Him? Our sessions with Him are tape recorded. You may read His messages, sermons, prophecies, prayers, etc. in the website below. Pick up what you think is good for you and discard whatever is evil, if any. And please, report in this forum what you found.
Did you know that it took me eleven years (1983 to 1994) before I accepted that the spirit we talk to is Jesus Christ Himself? I do not expect that you will believe me straight away. Did you know that I asked Him point blank if He is the true God the Father? His answer was for me to scrutinize what He says and I will know who He is. And that took me that long from the time that I first heard Him in June 1983.
He revealed that Jesus was born on May 23 and was crucified and died on August 17. I heard these revelations in 1983. I checked these only in 1999 when we connected to the Internet. In 2003, I was able to prove that the August 17 date is true and correct. The year was 1 BC. In 2006, I was able to prove that the May 23 date is true and correct also. The year was 33 BC. Results of these studies are in the websites below.

Words? If you speak to god it is praying, if god speaks to you it's a serious mental problem that you have.
Dreams? Gosh sake, no. The Dark Age and Medieval years are behind us.
Deeds? God's or mine? You must mean mine 'cause god has none.
The short answer is, No, my communication with an invisible god in the sky seems to be decidedly limited. In fact, it is what you might expect of something that doesn't exist: zero.
But if such a fantasy brings you comfort, love, you run with it.

Through prayer, it's a 2 way street. I usually fill up the space with my own chatter, so it's hard for Him to get a word in edge-wise.
Also - every Sunday at Mass we have readings from the Gospel. It's a great time to realize that He is talking to me.

When God touches you, you breath. By this I mean - God touching you while you're in this physical body. And while God keeps this closeness with you - "He is closer to you than your breath" - God also lets you know He's here - via the inner sound and mother nature.

with your soul
when you pray
and when you think in GOD , the GOD also thinking in you
everytime you feel that you want to be closer to GOD , the GOD will be closest to you
ask him what you want in the middle of night after a pray ,, and sure you will be communicating with the GOD through your soul.
hope to help you this :)

And when My servants ask thee about Me, say 'I am near. I answer the prayer of the supplicant when he prays to Me. So they should hearken to Me and believe in Me, that they may follow the right way.'
