I consume home-made smoked turkey breast sandwiches almost everyday as it's easy to make and I don't like to eat out. I get meat from the supermarkets (in 200 gram packages, sliced thin) which could last me for two weeks. I include tomatoes, onions, lettuce and cucumber in my sandwich, and I use wholemeal bread only. I also add some mayonnaise and chilli sauce for taste. Sometimes, I add a fried egg (not more than 3 times a week) Is this a healthy diet? I regularly eat this combination for lunch.

Yes it is healthy. Turkey is low in fat and it has serotinin which makes you calm.

50 g is about 2 oz and the recommended amount of meat a day is around 80 g. Just another "food police" web site trying to scare you into buying their product or suscribing to their service. Further even if the research is right (and all the data on meat is within close to the error factor) meat and meat products only slightly elevate the risk of cancer. Smoking elevates your risk more than 10 times. Eat a balanced diet with a variety of foods. Maintain a proper weight. Enjoy your life and don't let the food police frighten you into stopping eating. If you nose around the web you can find someone that thinks whatever food you are eating is bad for you somehow. PS - I have eaten 50 g or more of deli meat almost every day of my life. My bp is 120/70 and cholesterol is below 200 and my HDL is 70.

Be a lot better if you bought a turkey breast and cooked it yourself. Processed meats are full of additives and stuff - particularly the thin sliced ones for some strange reason.
