Your school should have a VA rep. Mine was in the same building as ROTC. They will have forms for you to fill out to verify your eligibility. After that, you get a letter in the mail once a month to confirm you are still attending class. Sign it and send it back. Your check arrives around the 1st of the month, made out to YOU. So if you need money for something other than school, you can use it. I used mine and it is a GREAT program. You will not be sorry you signed up for it. But, first thing first, contact your schools VA rep. (if they don't have one, ask the finance or bursars office) to get the ball rolling. Good luck to you.

I am using the GI Bill now, at your school there should be a representative that works there to help you through this process, they will get you the paper work. I am not sure how it works in trade schools but for me I had to be in class for 30 days before I got paid that is the rule with the GI Bill for college courses, but the school will work with you as far as paying for you classes goes and give you an extension, you will have to buy books up front. Good luck!
Also get a bank account they gave me my money through Direct Deposit and there were no letters, it was just a phone call to verify enrollment or you can use the net to verify enrollment!
