It's not even superstition... someone else asked a question about a Ouija board last week i here and one of the answers was really good.... try looking it up. It has something to do with a mental suggestion or something...I can't remember exactly. EDIT: found it on wikipedia... Users subconsciously direct the path of the triangle to produce a word that is in that person's subconscious thought process. This subconscious behavior is known as ideomotor action, a term coined by William Carpenter in 1882. It is also known as automatism.[6] Some people may be convinced that the "powers" of the ouija board are real because they are unaware that they are in fact moving the piece and therefore assume that the piece must be moving due to some other "spiritual force". The subconscious thought process may produce an answer that is different from what the user expected in their conscious thought process—thus perpetuating the idea that the board has "mystical powers". The Penn & Teller: Bullshit! episode on Ouija Boards ran an experiment using unbiased participants. Questions were being asked to the late William Frawley with very strong answers. The participants were then blindfolded and the board was turned 180 degrees without their knowledge. With continued questioning, the planchette then traveled to bare areas of the board where the participants believed the "Yes" and "No" marks were located.

The ouiji board is a very dangerous tool of the devil. The fact that it is sold in shops as toys and other places is evidence of the lack of knowledge people have of the spirit world.
I am from a culture where the western medical institution was viewed with scepticism. They preferred the guidance of the spirit world. We were taught never to communicate with that world without knowledge as it was very dangerous.
Through my childhood and into early adulthood I witnessed many strange and unexplained things which frightened the living daylights out of me and stopped me evern contemplating tangling with that side.
I am now in a position where I have extensive knowledge about that side of things. I try to impart knowledge wherever I can so that people will have a better understanding and not be frightened of the unknown.
When you use a ouiji board you are invoking the spirits of the dark side. The reason is that is the very lowest level of communication with the spirit world. The lowest level is where all the lost souls are who do not believe in Jesus so they can't get into heaven. They have to live somewhere too. The only difference between them and you is that you have a body and they don't. They still have all the cravings of their carnal earthly body but need to possess a physical person to carry out their dastardly deeds.
They can achieve this through people surrendering the control of their minds when they enter into altered states such as on drugs or alcohol. This is why they say they hear voices and they get them to commit things they don't remember.
This is a but a sneak preview into this world as I would have to be tying all night to cover enough to explain.
I am happy to expand on it when I have more time.
May the blessings, peace and grace of
God be with you.

just because a company decided that it could make millions form rebellious teenagers. means that there is no danger in something?
i agree the Ouija is not bad. the countless idiots using them for parties, and games make them bad.
the board has no magic in it. but every living human does. and that is all it takes to contact a spirit. is the innate magic of the human race. and the belief that it can be used.

haha The things people believe are unreal sometimes. Some really believe that they will become demon possessed or oppressed if they even let a ouija board enter their home.

Hear, hear! *polite applause* Although I don't think mankind is doomed to stupidity so much as we're doomed to extinction, but that's probably a GOOD thing. BTW, if you haven't seen it, you may enjoy (& be frightened by,) the movie "Idiocracy."

The "bad" is that they deceive and distract people from the love and mercy of the one true God. Some people actually BELIEVE that they can be used to connect to ... well...to someone/thing/place else.
A toy? Yes. Possibly a sinister "toy"? Yes.
