Let them stay. Pending they pass a thorough background check for any legal problems. If the border is not secure then no matter who you are, if you don't have a financially secure life in your country then you will look for a better life in America. It's like placing candy in front of a baby and saying you can't have it. You place a poor father of 4 children at the border with no work and America says go ahead walk across the border where here you can work in landscaping or housekeeping with unlimited work to support your family. What will that father do? Stay in his native country and watch his family suffer or be a man and do something about it? Register these illegal immigrants. Give them socials and have them pay taxes the right way. But NEVER grant them US Citizenship. Just grant them a green card. They must pay a yearly penalty for remaining in America. This will allow them a chance to remain with their US Citizen children. It's not humane to break up a family. The children have no control over what their parents did. The key being the borders have to be extremely secure and hight technoloy employed for surveillance because once your in and settled its all about the children.REMEMBER THAT AT ONE TIME OUTSIDERS CAME AND TOOK WHAT THE NATIVES HAD.

i say we deport the ones that commit crimes...
and let the ones that want to work to support their families stay...
many illegal immigrants are just normal hard working people with families...they came here for a better life, they should be granted amnesty and be allowed to become citizens...
the ones that bring drugs, etc...should be deported...
it also wouldn't be a bad idea to deport americans who are caught with drugs....
many people confuse illegal immigrants with criminals...
they are not criminals unless they commit a crime (besides coming here illegally, that is ridiculous to be considered a crime)
america was supposedly built by immigrants so why don't we start living up to what we stand for?

Soone or later, they will take themslves home. They want to pack up or their stuff first-most of the rest will be in prison. Deportation is already happening-I think ICE is going for the criminal aliens first. Gradually-it is not going to be done in one day of course and probably still sneaking in,but not like it used to be. There`s enough jobs in Mexico as far as they go and plenty of money was sent back there for the poor.[billions]. Calderon justs likes all the extra bucks sent there and is mad about getting the illegals back and maybe the criminals. You`d think he`d want to know where the murderers are of all them women from Mexico that could be hiding here. But everything is about money-root of all evil. Maybe also if them Mexican trucks pick up a bunch of illegals,it would be easier to capture more-which I figure is going to happen. There also has to be a fingerprint system instead of all this fake document business to fool businesses or for the business to have the excuse that they "didn`t know" for cheap labor. I agree that the illegals that appreciate it here could stay, but should be put back in the fields and only for the season like it used to be.

The only viable answer is to deport them. Why fit the bill?. Betcha we can get Bank of America to pay for it? Don't think big labor would mind too much either chipping in, nor would the employers that hired them to begin with. It can sufficiently be done.

They have to be deported.
Zero tolerance!
It won't happen in a month but if we get 50,000 Immigration Agents we can make a huge dent in 5-7 years.
This has been going on for 30 years, we can't cure it in a couple of months.

It would be impossible to deport all of the illegals. How do people think we would do this? How can we deport 12 million people? People who suggest this are being unrealistic. Also, a lot of the illegals have children who were born in the U.S. and are American Citizens. Are we supposed to break apart millions of families?

Build the fence, and cut off all incentives for them to come here. Most would probably go home. Deport any others that stay.

Deporting them all would cost too much, and letting them all stay would cause too many problems in society. I say we pick out the troublemakers (drug addicts, gang members, criminals, etc.) and deport them, and let the ones stay that are working hard and contributing to the economy.
This will even give them an incentive to behave themselves.
