Hello, I'm a member of the church.. So I'll try to explain it in the easiest words. Mormons are EXACTLY like Christan's expect we have one extra book called the Scriptrues (Book Of Mormon) Joesph Smith is the founder of the Church when he got a message from Angel Moroni he than prayed about it to see if this church is ture... Later on he got the hold of the Scriptures read them and translated them....
That's just a little information about it. Now, The LDS Church say's one thing that is different from them and the Christan church is that LDS is Led by Jesus, While the others 'follow' him.
the beliefs are just simple a little different... like we don't drink soda or anything caffeine since its a drug. very modest don't date before we're 16.. so on so on.
if you like more info go to LDS.ORG (which the LDS offical website.. never go to another website for info since some lies or don't explain it well)
i really hope i helped!!

A "Mormon" is a term describing members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Church believes in Christ and His Atonement. They believe that after the true church fell away after Christ's death, that it was restored to the Earth in 1830 through revelation to a prophet like Isaiah, Jeramiah, or Peter. The Lord restored 12 Apostles to the Earth. The record of God's dealings with the people here in America was brought forth out of the ground and translated by the gift and power of God.
I am a member of this Church. There are a lot of rumors floating around about this church and its members. Most are not true and those that are true have a weird or wrong spin placed on them. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any more questions. You can also visit http://www.mormon.org too - that's the LDS Church's official site for non-members who may be interested. http://www.lds.org is the offical site for everything else. Also, the Lord has sent missionaries out who are not perfect but they do carry the Spirit with them and so they can answer any questions you have too. That is their responsibility... http://www.mormon.org will have a link to click on where you can request them to come by...
I know this Church is true! It will bless your life more than you can know.

They're Christians fyi
The name of the Church is:
The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints
They believe that the Bible and the Book of Mormon are both scripture (hence the name "Mormon").
They believe that they should marry for Eternity in a Mormon Temple.....the catch is that you have to be a "worthy" Mormon to get married, there, so they're encouraged to only date worthy Mormons.

* prepares for LDS thumbs down* you're a faith that has further to the bible, which the bible in specific states to no longer. you think of Jesus is devil's brother, wronggggg You worship a prophet which the bible says to no longer..... and on and on and on enable me ask you some questions :) If Gods are people who've gone with the aid of mortality and characteristic progressed to Godhood, how has one guy or woman of the Trinity (the Holy Spirit) attained Godhood with no want a physique? (See Acts 5:3,4) God reported, “Is there a God beside me? Yea, there is not any God; i be attentive to no longer any”. How can there be Gods who're Elohim’s ancestors? truly an all-understanding God could be attentive to this and wouldn’t talk falsehoods. (See Isa. 40 4:8 and magazine of Discourses Vol. one million, pg. 123) How can any adult men ever become Gods while the Bible says, “earlier me there replaced into no god shaped, neither shall there be after me”? (Isaiah 40 3:10) If Adam is the “purely God with whom we ought to do”, did Adam create himself? (magazine of Discourses Vol. one million, pg. 50, fifty one) Joseph Smith reported that without the ordinances and authority of the priesthood no guy can see the face of God and stay (D & C 80 4:21, 22). He additionally reported that he observed God in 1820 (Joseph Smith 2:17). Joseph Smith, besides the fact that, on no account gained any priesthood till 1829 (D&C 13). How did he see God and proceed to exist? wherein replaced into he in errors: his revelation in D & C 80 4:21, 22 or his adventure interior the grove? If a spirit is a being without a physique (See Luke 24:39), why do Mormons instruct that God the daddy has a physique of flesh and bones? (See John 4:24) If the e book of Mormon consists of the fullness of the Gospel, why doesn’t it instruct that God replaced into as quickly as a guy? I even have greater yet will end with those.

I don't understand why Mormons aren't considered Christians. We believe that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that he died for our sins. We believe that Jesus is the Son of God and we try to follow His teachings. If believeing in Jesus and following His teachings doesn't make you a Christian, what does?
As for dating someone who is a Mormon and you aren't. As with any church some people are more devout than others. Not all Mormons follow all the teachings of the church but assuming this girl does, she will not be drinking or smoking. She will be saving herself for marriage and will have fairly strong morals.
This is not really any different than any other girl that's been raised devout in other religions. I live deep in the heart of Utah and two friends of mine that also have very strong morals and values, don't drink or smoke, and saved themselves for marriage are Baptist and Catholic. As long as you're respectful of her beliefs and she is respectful of yours you should be able to date without problems.

Mormons are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In spite of the misleading name, they are not a Christian group.
This site explains a lot about them:
http://www.carm.org/mormon.htm
As to whether or not you should date a Mormon, that probably depends on your own religious beliefs, which you don't specify.
The Bible tells Christians not to marry outside their own faith. This is for many reasons, including because it is a source of heartache to know that the person you love most is unsaved. So if you are a Christian, it's best not to date a non-Christian.

"Mormon" (not morman) refers the the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
HUGE controversy surrounding that group...both from Christian groups as well as from others. Mormons believe that they are Christian. Many Christians don't believe that Mormons are Christian.
Google for more info. Good luck.
