The majority of Christians aren't like that but there are still many who take it too far. These christians have come to be known as fundamentalists, extremists, facists, etc. They probably make up only about 10-20% of the whole Christian population. unfortunately they are also the ones who scream the loudest meaning they are the ones heard most often. As a result many people outside of Christianity think that all Christians are like that when in fact they are a minority. A minority that is a major pain, but a minority nonetheless.

What you describe isn't about Christians, its about humans, society, traditions, morals, ethics. Christianity or any religion has it forum of discipline, tradition and values, only through religion people find structure in how to live there daily lives, its not that religion is against everything, its because if has long lasting foundation, all you have is Religion and Government that have power, the people who don't fall under this are liberal. But when live in world of freedoms and any with that you still need rules and structure, or everything would become crazy.

I agree that christians aren't blamed for everything. But the reason christians (and any group really) gets labelled is because the most vocal participants in that group are the ones who get the air time. I know many loving, caring, intelligent, fantastic people of various faiths (including athiests), but it's the fanatics that you'll see on the news.

well alot of religious people try to hide behind the word christian and bible to hate on people. unfortunately people see that alot more than they see religious people trying to make a positive difference in the world. its like the people who come on various college campuses with their signs which say that God hates Gays or jews or anything else you can think of. my suggestion for you is to pray for christians. we need the most help. How many pastors have been found guilty of molestation? right.

It's part of wanting to associate yourself with a group known for all those things that you mentioned.

Because it's all their fault. What good things can one expect from a sect who worships a man hanging on a cross?
