Yes it can effect both your vision as much as television, as well as more commonly affecting your fingers like carpel tunnel is a pretty common disease associated with keyboards.

Our bodies are "designed" for movement. And if we're just sitting in ONE position & place for too long- like in front of the TV or Computer, things start "stiffening up" & slowing down. And when nothing's getting any exersize- parts start getting fat & lazy too... There's a LOT more to Life- than the Internet. Sceduale "X" # of Online hours a day, & then turn your Computer off- & go out & DO something. Your body AND your mind- will appreciate it. :)

Yup. You get repetitive motion pains from working on the computer too long. You also get eye strain from staring at the screen to long and deep vein thrombosis (DVT) from sitting too long. Eye strain can happen in as little as 15 minutes. My optometrist told me to look away from the screen at some far object for at least 30 seconds every 10-15 minutes to prevent and relieve eye strain. DVT and repetitive motion injuries usually take longer to develop and take a lot longer to go away once you get them. You should get up, walk around, and do some stretches at least once every two hours to prevent DVT and injuries.

Yeah, like right now, my butt hurts from sitting here so long. And I swear my vision has gotten worse since I got my computer.

Yes, I swear I've got 'mouse finger.' That last joint on my right index finger aches sometimes. Could be all those computer games I play at work all night.... or YA!
