I feel for you, man. It sucks when you have a toothache. I've had enough of my own, I can relate!!! Try Aleve. It's used primarily for muscle pain, but last time I had problems with my tooth, I tried it, and it not only took the pain, but it relaxed me so I could rest. If that doesn't work, try Ibuprofen. That's what my daughter takes for everything. In fact, you might want to try Ibuprofen first, it's a little less expensive. I wish you well. Hope you feel better soon :)

Well i'm not a dentist, i'm a medical student, but i think any layman can tell you that you sound like you have a tooth cavity where the bacteria have spread down to the nerves in the root of the tooth. the gums could also be infected. Take a strong painkiller and rinse your mouth with warm water and salt, but these are temporary measures. If you have a cavity there is no home treatment for that, you must see a dentist. Is there a public dental clinic where you live? Try to look for one. Good Luck

DONOT try to extract a tooth yourself..you'll regret that for the rest of your life. You'll end up breaking it off inside and then you have REAL trouble! If it's really bad then nothing will help for any length of time and it will only get so bad that nothing will help but medical attention. Please check with the local hospital for a free clinic or a dentist that will do a payment schedule with you. Your local college might be able to help with a DDS student. If there's time drop into a few dental offices and ask in person. If you show up they will have to talk to you. If you call they can just say forget it. It may take several offices but surely there is a dentist whose life doesn't revolve solely around the money...Good luck.

versantly is right. Antibiotics are the best painkillers for a toothache.
But no, I lied. The absolute best painkiller for the worst toothache you ever had is a little dab of powdered cocaine right on the tooth. The pain will disappear instantly. Instantly! Then you can get it taken care of the next day.

Good day Billy!
Toothaches or shall we say strange pain on one of your teeth or the gum-line is usually the starting point of severe or worst dental problems. Aside from giving you sleepless nights of painful miseries and difficult chewing, it could actually threaten your health and worst could kill you. Before it's too late, get dental health care advices and solutions at http://www.themouthdoctor.com/dentalhealthcare/dentalhealthcare.htm and free yourself from the dangers of dental problems.
Your problem does not need any remedy from over-the-counter drug stores. It needs safe and dentist recommended medication. Try OraMD for quicker pain relief and bad-bacteria fighter at very affordable price too.

A lot of hospitals and even colleges offer free dental clinics...try calling around, searching the internet and even checking the newspaper.
Also most doctors/dentists can set you up on a payment plan where you pay in installments kind of like you would buying a new car.
Whatever you do, DO NOT pull it yourself.

I sometimes melt an aspirin on the tooth it definitely doesn't taste good but it sometimes helps. Maybe a BC powder hold some on there. I don't mean swallow the aspirin I mean lay it on the tooth and let it melt. My husband had a bod tooth ache yesterday and the pharmacist gave me this stuff.
http://www.amazon.com/Red-Cross-Toothache-Complete-Medication/dp/B000S39DCK/ref=sr_1_4/102-4176013-3628161?ie=UTF8&s=miscellaneous&qid=1189056330&sr=8-4
It helped somewhat, but the BC did a better job.

At this stage, removal is the only one solution even if you don't have money. But using Sensodine tooth paste will help a lot. Any how switch to the Sensodine tooth paste.

its called sods law !!!was gonna suggest clove oil but if u have already tried it ........nothing gonna help really other than extraction. the pain is from the nerve dying and the tooth has to go . u must NOT remove it yourself, u need a professional who can do it safely and properly. u could do untold damage if u try urself. these dentists train 4 years to do this stuff - if it was that easy we wouldn't need them!!!u could end up snapping the tooth, breaking ur own jaw, bleeding profusely, passing out from the pain, infecting urself and why would u want to?get pro help - its cheaper to do it now than a*se it up and have to go begging someone to help at even more expense.

there's no over the counter drugs that will work for an infected tooth. can you go to mexico and have it done? you just need to get it pulled before the infection spreads to your nervous system. Or you can go talk to dental colleges around your area and see if they are taking in volunteers (guinea pigs) for their student to practice on. its supervised by their instructors.
