the other morning after I woke up I layed in bed for a while with my hands behind my head and my 7 month old cat jumped into bed with me and for some strange reason started smelling under my arms (I hadn't put on deoderant yet) and he started rubbing against me and acting like he had just gotten into some catnip, have any of your cats done this? is there something in sweat that gets to them?

well ive had my cat sniff my feet and put its paw in my ears but have never had a cat sniff my armpit. your armpit is one of the warmer parts of your body and thus you scent would probably be more pronounced there. kitty is probably just attached to you and decided to cuddle to the part of your body that smelt the most "you." dunno if im right but its what i can think of.

Sweet, you've got a cat that really loves you! Maybe he never had a chance before to smell you arm pitts....but when he got the chance he liked it, they smelled like YOU and you are important to him.

Smell is more important than any other sense to cats.

If he was bumping you with his forehead or nose this is a sign of true affection. If he was rubbing against you with his head or the side of his face (cats have a scent gland in front of their ears) he was marking you as part of his territory or domain. YOU BELONG TO HIM

Cats have glands or something over there...to sort of mark their territory or spread their scent. Maybe your cat was just claiming you (or your armpits at least lol)!!!

its your scent.. in its most potent form.. and cats look for that.. its almost a comfort for them because they know it is you

they will be drawn to your scent anywhere.. its not the sweat.. its your scent that hes rubbing against..
