Ok, not everyone who believes in God is a Jew. Jews accept that someone who was born a Jew may decide that there is not a god, and drop the religion, and that is sad, but happens.. When a Jew decides to adopt another religion, they are choosing to no longer be Jewish... They can come back, but at that point, they are not a Jew by religion anymore. Religions that actively push their beliefs, through proselytizing are very much not acceptable to most Jews, as they often have been known to use deceptive or threatening tactics on Jews in the past. When a Jew converts to one of these, knowing what they do, and participating in it, it is a sad day for Judaism in general....

People, please! The very word Jew is not even the correct word to use unless you were/are from the tribe of Judah. Or Y'hudah.
This term"Jew" has been thrown around so long it has lost its meaning. It simply means, again I say; One from the tribe of Judah, one of the 12 tribes of Israel.
Being a Jew has nothing to do with religion if you are not religious. In the context of the true meaning of the word it means you are from that tribe.
Many in Israel are not"Jews" they are Hebrew. This shows the ignorance of the world.
I am American Indian and Also from the seed of Abraham. This is how I put it because I do not know which tribe I came from.
To answer your question; whether you are a Jew, i.e. from the tribe of Judah, or Hebrew, from one of the other tribes of Israel you are what you are!!!
Believing in God has nothing t do with it.

A Jew who doesn't believe in God is still a Jew. Judaism is based on actions, not beliefs. One cannot be punished/rewarded for one's thoughts/
If a non-Jew believes in God, he/she isn't a Jew unless he/she converts. However, according to Jewish law, a non-Jew must believe in a single God to be rewarded in the afterlife.

No, under Orthodox Jewish law, if one's mother is a Jew, one is a Jew. I believe in God and am not a Jew. The bigger question is, if you're considered to be a Jew by Conservative, Reform and Reconstructionist branches if one of your parents is a Gentile, are you Jewish? The Orthodox branch of Judaism does not accept the argument that these children are Jewish, but the other branches do.

The problem is: define a 'Jew'. There are jews living in Israel(I've met them personally), who are no more jewish than the man in the moon, and there are others who have a TRUE FAITH in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, who, in this world, would not be called 'jew', but a 'goy' or 'goyim'.
Everything is upside down right now.

We are all descendants of Abraham my friend… being a Jew is belonging to the tribe of Judah!
Read this booklet first, it’s only 48 pages in length but you will find out things you are wanting to know.
The United States and Great Britain in Prophecy
http://www.gnmagazine.org/booklets/US/
Then after you finish reading that, read the book Melanie Phillips wrote at the expense of her own life and that of her family members lives as well for warning us here in these United States what is about to occur right under the noses of our senate and congress ad hoc members who don’t even seem able as yet to name the “Enemy” we are at “WAR” with and have been every since 1998!
Then get down on your knees and pray your heart out to our Lord God Jesus Christ to come to the aid of the people of the whole world my friend… you will surely want to do something to that effect if you do this all in good order…
God bless you in everything you endeavor my friend through Jesus Christ our Lord and God.

peace be upon you
I think a jew who believe the God and worship him as it came in their book"Torah" .
and if a jew not believe in the God ,he must not be a jew.
The same christian should believe in the God and worship him as it came in Bible.
Also muslims must believe in the God ,his angles, his books(Quran_Bible_Torah) ,his messengers ,the lastday and the fate whatever good or bad.
"None jew believe in the God"
according to the book which he believe in and also the messenger who believe in. or how he will worship the God ? as jew or christian or muslim

Obviously, if a person doesn't believe in god, they are of no religious faith by any name.
The second part of your question makes little sense-a person who does believe in a supreme being can choose to be jewish, catholic, muslim or even a Two-seed-in-the spirit Predestinarian Baptist-as they desire.
