At least athiests have looked within themselves and found something/nothing - which is more than most of us. You christians on here base your entire beliefs on words in a book and you never seem to get Jesus' message. I will pin my beliefs based on personal experiences with God against your bible interpretations any day. There is more to God/Jesus than ink on paper, and certainly more than you can quote out of a book witten by men.

You have fun picking fights with Christians?

Is that, Christians in name only, or brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ?

The bible is the standard for truth. Anyone can say that God told them this or that, or they experienced something they say could only mean that it came from God, but if it doesn't line up with the bible then it is relative and not the absolute truth.

If you say that there is no absolute truth, then your god is your own fallen power of reason.

You lack Christ-like love and compassion, maybe? Not to mention humility...

When you refer to the Bible as "written by men" you are forgetting/overlooking/ignoring that these men's words were "Divinely Inspired".

Matthew 23:12 - whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

Luke 14:11 - For every one who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."

Proverbs 11:2 - When pride comes, then comes disgrace;
but with the humble is wisdom.

Romans 12:9-11 - Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good; love one another with brotherly affection; outdo one another in showing honor. Never flag in zeal, be aglow with the Spirit, serve the Lord.

Don't be so quick to dismiss the Bible.

I read an article entitled "When the Church Militant become the Church Obnoxious" a few months ago. It came to mind when I read your post.

SHAME ON YOU for your non-Christian attitudes! I am a devout, orthodox Catholic, and we are called to bring people to Christ and to His Church, not puff up ourselves with pride.

You may do well to meditate on the words of St. Francis - 'Preach always, use words when necessary'.

It is not possible to Know God and yet reject His Word. You reject Gods authorship of Scripture because you are blinded to truth. You feel that a Perfect, Holy, God cannot do something as simple as to put His own Words onto paper. Your God is not my God, my God created the universe and nothing is impossible to Him. If my God chose to, He could have a rock write His Word. God can do anything He chooses to do, nothing is impossible for Him. Your understanding is limited, not His Power.

each to their own... As an atheist I'll discuss debate and argue anytime i can I sympathize as I used to be an indoctrinated
catholic once upon a time long ago. I've never been happier more clear headed and at peace since my epiphany to Atheism.

coach: You must really have it out with your Catholic priest at church, on Sunday? Perhaps you have special information from God, that He didn't entrust with those He inspired to pen the Bible with, to relate to the rest of us ?
Do you find it rather difficult to remain superior in such a mediocre world?

I'm also a Catholic, and I have no interest in picking fights with anybody. That's not what I'm here for, and that's not what my religion has taught me to do. Tearing down fellow Christians, and fellow human beings, would do no credit whatsoever to my beliefs, my Church, or my self-respect.

If you were really Catholic you wouldn't have addressed the Protestants on here as "You Christians", since you would realized that you yourself are a Christian, and a complete Christian. Nice try though.

Hon, Catholics believe in the Holy Trinity. Are you sure you're Catholic? How could you claim such a religion when you sound athiest? I will be praying that confused is delivered from you? God bless.
