I am a junior in high school. When i dont have a class with people i know, ill cut it and wind up losing credit for the class. I just feel so scared and very nervous when i have no one to talk to in my class. I feel as if everyone is watching me and saying"What a loser shes all by herself and has no friends" (they dont say that ,thats what goes through my mind) Today was the 1st day of school. I had all my friends in all my other classes except gym. Gym is the type of class where you need a friend otherwise you are a loser. I cannot try to make friends becuase i am very shy and very self conscience about myself when my friends or boyfriend isnt around. No one else in my gym class is alone but me.I have alot of friends. Dont get me wrong im not some friendless girl. I am very loud and completely comfortable around them. I am really afriad to go to school tommorow cuz 2day i felt humiliated to have no friends to talk to.My guidance counselor wont switch me out as of now. What should i do

I hate to sound mean, but you got to get over it and go to your classes. You can't skip out just because you don't have a friend in that class. I know it is harsh, but you aren't going to get put in another class just because you don't have a friend in your current gym class. If you are so loud and confident, then go talk to some of the other kids and make friends. There is always going to be somebody who feels the way you do. Go up and talk to somebody else who is just sitting by themselves and start up a conversation with them.

What you've got to do is try your best and not worry about what the other people are thinking.

This year is my Junior year too and I have friends in all my classes except English and EVERYONE in it is popular. Keep to yourself if you have to. Make friends with the teacher and maybe join in on a conversation someone is having. Think of it like the first day of kindergarten. Eventually you'll get used to the kids around you to know what to do and what not to do. :3

Are your parents aware of this problem? What does the school counselor suggest? You need some help, without question. The problem remains; where do you find the right place to go for that help.. allow your parents to make that decision and then follow through with it..It will be a problem for years to come if you don't have it corrected..The people I deal with have had their problems for years and still need help. Even after years of psychcological evaluation and treatment. So don't wait until you are into your mid life to have the problem taken care of.

This is really a problem in your life. You need to do something about it. Don't just keep running away from these problems. Think. How did you get all the friends you have? You weren't born with them. You must have gotten to know them somehow. See if you can try to start by just saying "hi" to someone in your gym class. It's good to give people compliments anywhere, so if you see something to compliment ("That's a pretty color on you."), do it. Or ask someone to help you with something. Of course it needs to be something you actually need help with. One of the best ways to get people to like you is to get them to help you (strangely enough it works that way, not the other way around!). If you cannot bring yourself to stay in class or try to be social enough that you can participate in class, you should talk to your parents about seeing a therapist to help you with this social phobia. Don't let this problem limit your life! You can overcome this problem.

Now I have to give you my 2 cents and I hope you take my advice. I would like you to have a book with you and act like you are so crazy about your reading and just pretend you are enjoying your book. Or you just pretend like you are talking to someone on your cell phone and you can have a music on your ears also. Remember you need to learn how to take a control and be yourself. Do not let anyone see your sweat and life goes on. You need to know how to play a game in High school and only you know how to fight. I always use this word " Get out of my way, I am coming " Boys? it works every times.

Have you talked to your parents about this? They may be able to help you out of this, if you can get a doctor's note to excuse you from this class and then be able to take another class in its place, anxiety is no fun, I've been there ... talk to your physican about the anxiety.
