I recently started college, and I was wondering, if during a lecture a student really has to use the bathroom, what's the proper way to go about it?

Should that person wait, or ask the professor if they could go? Or should they just gather their belongings and leave without saying anything?

alright well most professors dont even notice if u leave if ur in a HUGE class.. but if ur going to the bathroom.. most of the time they'll ignore you.. why would they let you affect their teaching? so dont ask them.. they'll just look at you wierd for not just doing it. but if ur worried about being rude.. then yeah wait until they're done talking or at least until a break in the convo.

generally, professors dont care if you step out of the room. Its not H.S., you dont need a hall pass or anything. Just quietly get up and walk out, and gently close the door behind you. (dont take your stuff, its too noisy to pack your stuff up). its really not a big deal for college students to get out of the classroom during class. however, there will be some professors that are total control freaks, and they demand you to ask permission (but thats unlikely).

How long are your lectures? I always used the bathroom between classes, and only recall having to go during one 3 hour lab. I never saw anyone ask permission, though-we just went.

They've been walked out on by the best of them. Just try to be as discreet as possible. Quietly close the door and make as little disturbance as possible. It's never really an issue, even in small lectures.

Assuming that you will be back before the lecture is over, just slip out as quietly and unobtrusively as possible.

If it's a small lecture you might want to add an 'excuse me' before slipping away.

But no, you don't have to ask a prof for permission.

sure! you're certainly allowed to pass to the showering room. you basically quietly upward thrust up and are available back once you're accomplished along with your on line employer. In faculties, you learn on your very own sake and the professor does not extremely care while you're interior the class or not (as long as you're actually not disrupting the two way). you will not could desire to strengthen your hand or something. even with the shown fact that, some professors could desire to sense in any different case and that they assist you to be attentive to.

You just go. Don't wait. No need to ask the teacher. You don't even need to gather your things (unless you think class will end) When you are don with the bathroom you go back to class.

you go to the restroom. it's that simple. you stand up quietly, walk out of the class, go to the restroom, walk back into class quietly, and sit down. you're an adult, you don't have to ask permission to pee.

You do not ask for permission from the "professor" to go potty. You are big children now, come and go as you please.
