My grandparents came from Italy. When my mom was young, people used to call her "Blacky" because of her darker skin. During WWII they enudured a lot of harrassment because of the Italy association with the tyrant, Mussolini. I'm now thinking I am entitled to some money because of all of the suffering of my people, pretty much like the American Indians or African Americans. Italian Americans have also suffered immensely, and I am wondering where I go to get some money to help me ease the pain of my people and compensate for this suffering.
Thanks!

Oh, I can see that discrimination for us is still alive and well in America. Ask the Mafia? Why not just tell the African American to pick some cotton, or tell the Native American to, uh, do a rain dance? It's a sad reality that the white man is not allowed to feel pain, human suffering and is now ranked by the color of your skin, and public response to sharing this pain gets mocked with insults. (Except that redneck guy, Tin Man. He was funny!) I can now understand even better how my Grandma felt.

Don't forget us Irish folk. We've been tormented for centuries. Little known fact-- the Irish were kept as slaves a couple of centuries back. I should be compensated too, right?

Nice try. Italian Americans have not suffered nearly as much as Native Americans and African Americans. Don't even give me that!
You want to know what African Americans and Native Americans got from our government for past abuse? Absolutely nothing.
Why would you get anything if they didn't?

Wake up! You are not entitled to anything.Every racial group in the world has been oppressed at one time or the other.Read some history books.
My own mother, aunt and grand-mother were oppressed because they were native American, duting the 1920's and30's they were pretty much treated like blacks. Asked to leave stores ect.
During WW1 my grandfather couldn't get a job because he was German even though he served in the US Army under Mr. Roosevelt. (Spanish-American War vet) I could go on and on but what is the point, move forward and no freebies for anyone.

Hey, ask the mafia for money. If you are an American citizen you are entitled to whatever you can earn yourself and nothing more! Get over yourself.

Your an idiot, you don't deserve anything you didn't suffer. This is just a way to get easy money with out having to work for it. As far as I'm concerned I don'y owe anyone who has been oppressed anything because I wasn't born then and had nothing to do with it. Oppression has been around since before Christ walked the earth. I am not saying it's right but give me a break. You don't deserve a dime.

When Blacks, Native Americans, and Mexicans get to go to Italy and live there off your grandma's lands and natural resources...ONLY THEN YOU WILL HAVE A CASE.

You poor pathetic person! Your ancestors suffered and you think you are entitled! That's what's wrong with the younger generation. They have their hands out and don't want to work. I'll bet your family is so proud of you! Amazing!

The Italian and Irish were discriminated against for a couple of decades after their arrival in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

By comparison:

Blacks were enslaved, tortured, beaten and then lynched for decades following their "freedom."

American Indians were basically wiped off the face of the planet.

Sorry, but you have no case.

Hey sunshine, go get a job and make some money.
This country was founded on immigration - if it was that bad why didn't your mom/grandparents go back to Italy?
