First, I think it is important that in all things, not just eyes, you should do things because YOU want to do them. Don't get contacts because someone else thinks you should get them. Having said this, I think you will be surprised how comfortable modern designed contacts lenses are. Most people will find that the lenses cannot even be felt on the eyes within just hours of beginning to wear them. There are also many advantages to contact lenses over glasses. I would recommend you find an eye doctor who offers a no risk guaranteed success fitting. In my office I fit a patient with trial lenses and allow them to wear the lenses for up to two weeks to see whether they like the lenses. If they decide they would rather not wear contacts then they simply throw the lenses away with no further obligation other than paying for the initial fees related to fitting the contacts. Hope things go well for you and your new contact lens!

I have been wearing glasses for as long as I can remember, but one time I tried to switch to contacts, and it worked for a while but then they became really uncomfortable and itchy. This has been ahwile so maybe there have been advances in contacts. I still cant wear them because I have a huge stigmatism, I recommend checking with your doctor to see if you can even wear them, then you have to decide which you want. As someone who has had both glasses are alot easier to me you dont have to worry about them or anything.

You have to decide what is important to you. You don't need to try them just because other people say you'd look better with them. And you don't need to avoid them because you are afraid they will be uncomfortable. You could try them. If you want to do that you should talk to an optometrist, who can give you the kind of information you need to help you make appropriate decisions. I suggest you decide for yourself whether you are interested in trying them. And you don't have to decide now. Contact lenses will probably still be around decades from now.

You should try getting contacts. Contact lenses are not uncomfortable at all. If your eyes feels uncomfortable when wearing contact lenses, must be either the lens is dirty, the lens is chipped/cracked, or your eyes are allergic to the solution.
You should try it though.... (*_^)

Go to an ophthalmologist. An optometrist is fine also, but an ophthalmologist is an MD, and when it comes to your eyes you want the best. If you have astigmatism. you'll need the hard gas permeable lenses. If not, you'll need the soft lenses. The doctor will help you. I've had both. For me the soft ones are easier to get used to, but if you have dry eyes they tend to dry up. But after a couple days the hard are very comfortable, and your vision will be very sharp, which is what you want. Your doctor will decide which is best for you, and I think you'll love 'em! Go for it!! :)
