The liberals are not making a big deal out of it. Remember, liberals support gay rights.

It's the conservatives that are forcing Craig out. But he has always been a big proponent of not allowing gay rights and huge supporter of a constitutional ban on gay marriage. Looks like that hard line stand came back to bite him in the buttocks.

The other thing that is different in this from other scandals 1. Craig plead guilty (IE. admitted in a court of law that he did it) 2. the republican party lost seats in congress b/c of the Foley matter. They want to get this story out of the news as fast as possible since another election is coming up. They want Craig to resign so (hopefully) the public would have forgotten all about it come presidential election time.

Because Craig and is anti-gay rights in the public forum, and a closeted gay in private. You can't run a moral values campaign to get elected then accost an undercover cop in a public toilet. It could be seen as being hypocritical.

Get a grip - but if you think it isn't illegal you go ahead and try to have sex in the men's room with a police officer, and remember to tell the Judge it isn't illegal.

Actually conservatives have been making most of the noise. The left for the most part is just sitting back and laughing at the whole thing.

I don't know exactly what the charges read, but gay or not does this mean if you wanted to flirt with someone of the opposite sex in a public place that you could be arrested ? Scary to think about. Although I don't agree with his "alleged" lifestyle, I think that he's been run up the pole so to speak.

There's no such thing as an innocent politician.

Liberals are all over this because he is against gay marriage and he's a Republican. If Barney Frank had got caught doing that, every one would have just rolled their eyes and moved on.
