The exemptions from property taxes, both real and personal, for veterans residing in Connecticut are based on the years in which the service was performed. For example, I spent seven years in, but none of the time within qualified periods (WW2, Korea, Desert Storm, a few other dates).

See the Assessor in your town. They not only know, but they are the ones you have to file the claim of exemption with.

Oh, you'll probably need your DD-214 to verify dates of service.

One more thing, you want to do this NOW. Taxes are assessed in October, and if you didn't file for the exemption before they are assessed, you don't get the exemption for that year.
