The list is endless. Some important things are 1) Reduce consumption of oil and gas. 2) Reduce consumption of electricity. 3) Stop cutting down trees and denuding forests to produce the oceans of newsprint in which we wallow. 4) Switch to organic farming to produce healthier foodstuffs.5) Greater emphasis on renewable sources of energy.

Replace synthetics with natural products. Conventional cleaning and body care products contain tons of petroleum resources - non-renewable. Natural cleaning and body care products are made from renewable resources such as vinegar, witch hazel, and essential oils.
Conventional cleaning cleaning and body care products also contain ingredients that turn into dioxins when exposed to sunlight - quite a problem for our sewage treatment plants. Run-off is inevitable, upsetting the balance of our aquatic environment. Almost all natural cleaning products can be returned to the environment without causing any harm.
I purchased a couple of electronic books from Sunflower Naturals and learned that not only did I make a difference in the environment, I also made a difference in my wallet. Natural stuff is cheap, and works great.

It doesn't matter. Resources aren't lost, they just change form.
Toss plastic in a landfill, it still can be reclaimed.

You can turn off your computer for one. You can stop driving and stop paying the power bill until they cut it off.
