you need 59 if your using 8 footers and go 16 inches on center

ok ...12 feet wide 144 inches / by 16 inches = 9 studs, + 3 studs for top and bottom and 1 to double up after the seam on the 8 foot makr. = 14 studs now take 14 x 3 =42 because 36 feet is 3 times 12 now add 42 and 14 =56 now add one more to double up on the corner =57 and add one more to each end = 59

You mean for the walls?
One every 16 inches, plus doubling at the corners. 13 on each end and 39 down the sides roughly total 104 in all.
