To understand the old testament you need to understand God. To fully understand God you need to believe in Jesus Christ. This is why I won't waste your time or mine explaining the supposed contradictions you have came across.

You must be at a point of frustration based on the extra notations to your question. Believing the Bible takes faith.
God asks us to believe.
God does not ask us to understand.
That's why faith is necessary.

Sorry to say this but chances are you will never believe anything different than what you believe. The smartest Christian Theologian could give you the best explainations of why there are NO CONTRADICTIONS and you probably still would not believe.

Read the Enuma Elish to see it in its original form. Also read Sumerian writings. Genesis was taken from these.
