Met this guy in class. We have to work togeather for a project (we are in our 20s). He seems a little nervous around me (although, he has lots of friends, I don't know if maybe he is naturally nervous). He is really nice. I start to ignore him a little and notice that he has distance himself a bit ( I sat at the table in front of him during a presentation- and purposely acted like I didn't see him). His response was to move away from me (change tables during the next presentation). Have I totally messed things up? Or scared him off. So confused? Or is he just trying to tell me indirectly to relax and not sweat myself?

i think you need to tell him how you feel, not talking to him will not fix your issues, u have to work up the confidence and just go tell him how you feel

You have for no discernible reason turned a potential friend into a potential not so friendly guy. This is a nice guy that you have to work with on a school project ;hence, it is imperative that you are at least civil to each other. However, for reasons I can't fathom, you elected to deliberately antagonize him . and he did you no wrong. Have you messed things up or scared him you ask----- I suspect you have succeeded in confusing him, making him less of a friend(maybe more I think),giving him a totally false impression of you, and giving him the message that you want nothing to do with him. Now he is telling you --message received, I don't want anything to do with you too. So I suggest that you have a talk with him and clear the air( if only to make life easier for both of you during your project). Then take a second look at why you acted this way, a mannerism that I feel is alien to you. Please don't become something different from your true personality.
