Whats your opinion on this? Should children be seperated from their parents because of their immigration status? The people on this show were hard working people..people who worked LEGALLY with a visa but because of a lawyers mistake or because simply immigration wanted to deny renewal these children were left alone..you have a six yr old girl who instead of playing with dolls, is learning about immigration laws and suffering a great pain...you have little kids whos lives depend on their 17 yr old sister whom instead of hanging out with friends and having fun is having to pay bills and make sure her siblings dont go hungry...how is this justified?? why treat someone like a criminal when theyve given there lives and sacrificed so much so that their children can live well??

And dont give me BULL**** about immigrants commiting a crime...legal citizens do the same thing every day

This show was not asking for money...it was an interview with the families
The parents didnt break the law..they were over here legally working legally paying their taxes like a person is supposed to....doing things by the book..some had been here over 20 yrs.
Do you really mean to tell me that in 20 yrs of living here they couldnt earn enough respect to at least have that right of staying together as a family?
Funny how people almost immediately assume im taking about mexicans....
And i can comment as much as i want to peoples answers...if people took the time to actually pay attention to what theyre reading then i wouldnt have to say things anymore...do you realize how many people called the parents illegals and criminals even after i stated that they were here legally....

Immigration is stupid and hogwash.
This used to be all of the Native Americans land. Which is present day Mexico. The U.S. either bought the land or just took it away. America is just too drunk with arrogance and pride. Always has been and always will, until something happens where the U.S. has to immigrate to Mexico. It could happen.
They should make an amnesty sooner before it becomes more of a major problem than it already is. And they should enforce the border Patrol too and make certain perquisites to getting their citizenship.

First off, They would be able to take their children with them if they were deported. For them not to be taken with would be abandonment. While it is correct if the children are born American citizens that they have the right to remain, as a parent, they would come with me.
The situation happens time and time again when both parents pass away and the oldest child is left to raise the younger siblings, so, to me, they are just doing their duty.
If the deportation was a mistake and can be proven a mistake, they will be allowed to come back legally.

If the parent is here illegally, they are the ones that are responsible for the suffering of their children. When you break the law there is always a great chance that your family will be the ones that suffer. Same thing goes for American citizens that are put in jail, their families are separated and suffer too.
There is no reason the parents can't take their children back to their home country with them. They are the ones that made the decision to abandon their children here. Any parent who leaves their child here to fend for themselves is no parent in my eyes.
I have sympathy for the children put into this situation because of the actions of their parents, but just because you have a child who is considered a citizen does not give you the right to remain here or get special consideration.

if denied renewal it was the choice of the parents to leave the kids they could have gone back with the family so that is not much of an excuse. That is one of the things that needs to be changed the anchor baby status of kids should be changed and if born of illegal parents then deported with the parents and allowed at legal age to decide the status they want since they would have dual citizenship

No, the families should not be separated.
The kids should go back to the other country with their parents. Because kids are best raised by their own parents.
NOTE: None of the children you are talking about was FORCEFULLY taken from his/her family. They were left here BY THE CHOICE OF THE PARENTS who decided the child was better off here (probably because of the schools) than back in the home country. Do not blame the government for a decision made by the parents.
There are sometimes wrong decisions made by our immigration officials. And we have the most extensive court system in the world with very permissive laws for people who think they have been wronged to challenge those decisions. So if the 'mistakes' you reference have been upheld then there was probably a real reason to deny the visa or whatever.

The illegal parents cause the problems of their children being separated from them, not a countries laws. And no one stops them from taking their children with them. So stop justifying why you think they have rights to be here. The child can't even sponsor them until he or she turns 18 anyway. And according to Mexico's laws on citizenship. The children of Mexican illegals are still Mexican citizens. Not American. So stop complaining for them.
Edit: Even if they were here legally per visa for over 20 years, if they are not a naturalized citizen, or have not applied for, and swore an oath for American citizenship, they are all then Mexican citizens according to Mexico's laws on citizenship.
Also, either you are asking a question in which you want our opinions. Or you are lecturing us to see things your way. Which by the way is called chatting according to YA's guidelines, and T&S agreement. Which is it?

It makes me think little of the parent who leaves there children.....How can a child be left and not taken with them, i think the child is being used as a weapon by the parent, The parent is wrong wrong wrong..If it were me i would take my child with me. I would explain to my child that i did something illegal and now we had to leave but that when he was grown he could come back legally because of something illegal i had done for him. I would tell my child that he was know lucky to have been born in the USA.

Yes they should be deported. In what world do you live in where document fraud is acceptable? It's always about the kids. The kids can go to Mexico. The parents might try making some sacrifices back in Mexico too. These kids are lucky they were not hauled into foster care. If she is 17 she is breaking the law. A minor cannot be granted custody of kids it has to be an adult who can show proof of being capable of supporting the kids. The is nothing but a scam meant to provide false information and lie to the America people again. If they are American kids officials could not by law leave them with a minor why don't you understand that. This is nothing but a scam.

My opinion is simple, WHY should USA pay for all these people to live well?? They wave the Mexican Flag. They all need to be sent back, flag included.
Where do you draw the line for WHEN you stop letting unskilled poverty stricken immigrants from anywhere in??
So you seriously think Americans should invite the entire 3rd world people from all the countries around the globe here to stay?
These type tv programs are by design, supposed to make you upset and get your CASH support because of it.
12-30 million already sneaked over the border. Think of all the kids they dragged along so US taxpayers could support them. Mexico is laughing. That's 12-30 million less headaches they've got to contend with.

You are only tell one side of the story, and while I do feel sorry for the children, but this is not about families being separated, this is about parents that have a choice to make, and no one is demanding the children be separated. As to your point that some have given there lives and sacrificed so that their children can live well, ,most people do that for their children.

Frankly, it's their fault. If they would have done it by the books they wouldn't be in this predicament...and they DO NOT have to stay here alone they can take them with them you know...and if they wish they (the citizen children) can come back when they are older to the US.
I'm sorry I guess I was half awake yesterday. If that is the case, the parents were legally here but the lawyers screwed up, I would suggest they bring a civil suit against them. They get paid NOT to screw up. Simply because "immigration" wanted to deny renewal depends on the situation. I cannot really tell you yes they should have been deported or not, because frankly I do not know all the details. More details on the cases would help.
