Could you give book, chapter and verse on that supposed quote? If this were true, Peter would fit the role better than Paul.

Joh 6:68 Then Simon Peter answered Him, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the Words of everlasting life.
Joh 6:69 And we have believed and have known that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

The first person to call him "the Christ" or "the Messiah" was in Matthew 2 when Herod asks: Mat 2:1 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem

Mat 2:2 and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.”

Mat 2:3 When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him.

Mat 2:4 When he had called together all the people's chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Christ was to be born.

Paul was a Messianic Jew who understood the true meaning of Yeshua as Meshiach ben Yoseph--that He had come, as He himself stated, "for the lost sheep of Israel."

Paul knew the Scriptures, and recognized that the prophesies of the Old Testament, the Tenakh, had come true.

We know what role Herod's family played in the arrest of Jesus.

To be the Antichrist one would not want to further the kingdom and Paul was one of the most Strong supports of the faith after his encounter with Jesus. He also never claimed to be Christ.
