No, never use human products on cats. A flea bath with a flea shampoo especially made for cats is safe to use...but this is only a temporary flea solution. Any fleas in the house or fleas that you can bring into the house will just jump right back on her, and flea eggs around the house will still hatch out. Use a long term flea product such as Advantage or Frontline. Also, cat should not be bathed often as they have very sensitvie skin that is prone to getting dried out if bathed too much.

I'm so sorry about your loss. No, I don't know how long the flea season lasts, but I think I can help you a little. They can't really live on humans for long periods of time, as they could on a cat or dog or any other animal, seeing as we don't have a much fur to hide in. But they can give out nasty bites. I would suggest using Raid Flea spray around the house, as you had when you had your cat. Try buying some human flea shampoo or body wash to get them off of you. You should also do a cleaning/inspection of your house. Vaccuum and clean sheets and other bed clothes. This should kill most of them. Without the cat in the house any longer, the flea's reign on your house would go down soon anyway, but these will hopefully help you. Once again, so sorry for the loss of your cat. I hope that this helps, good luck!

Our human shampoos, creams, lotions, medications (even
those okay to give to dogs) and some foods are very very
bad for a cat.
And since you're asking this question, I know you must care
about your cat very much and want the best for it.
I'd say that taking your cat to the vet would be the best idea.
Not only can your vet give you medicine specific to the age
and size of your cat, but he/she can check; some cats are
allergic to fleas and get rashes long after the fleas are gone.
You know you will have to vacuum with a special bag in
it for fleas, wash all your bedding that the cat has touched
with hot water, and be vigilant for any more of them. Fleas
are terrible for coming back.
Please don't get a flea collar: you'd be poisoning you, the
cat, and everything around you.
Best of luck, and I hope your cat feels better very soon.

I am not sure about cats but blue dawn dish soap kills fleas on dogs. I am witness to this, as I have used this on my dogs in the past. However I would say that the frontline flea drops or advantage flea drops they have for cats is definitely your best bet if you want your cat to remain flea free.

The shampoo itself is not what kills the fleas - they drown in the water. So Dawn dish soap works just as well and you don't have to put poisonous chemicals on your cat.

Start off with ONE DROP of shampoo and access the amount of lather you get - then add another drop if it seems necessary.

Any shampoo will kill some because they drown. You won't get them all and you won't kill the eggs. You need to treat for fleas. The best is Advantage. If you can't afford that try a flea collar.

Joy dish washing liquid will kill the fleas. The "citrus " one. I have personally used it on kittens to young for any pharmaceutical flea treatment and it really works. Good luck. It's not easy to bathe a cat if they are not accustomed to it.

No......get advantage from your vet or Petsmart....it's drops you apply to the cat. You can use dish soap on a kitten under 6weeks to get rid of fleas, that is only because they are to young for other treatments.

Go to a drug store or supermarket and get the flea shampoo made for animals. Regular people shampoo might kill some, but it isn't made for fleas and it isn't going to kill them all.

I don't know about vo5, but I've used Head and Shoulders on my dog and have had great results. I lather her up and let it set for a few minutes then rinse well.
