I have seen 4 neurologists for my condition and 2 ophthalmologists- they say I have blephoraspasm but each said for a different reason - some because of meds I have been on and 1 cause of genetics- I have been on various anti-depressants and treatment for TB exposure. I can exactly pin point when it started and I am on totally different meds now but still have it along with other symptoms. I contacted Mayo Clinic but no one is willing to talk to me as I am not located near a Mayo Clinic. I was hoping some one out there may have similar experiences or now of an excellent specialist willing to do a phone conference at least initially. This is a horrible issue and effecting every aspect of my life - any one out there who can help me??? Please!

Not knowing where you're located, I'm going to suggest Duke University Hospital. Duke is almost as famous as Mayo. Get your primary care physician to refer you to Mayo or Duke. Perhaps Mayo would listen if it was a reffered case.

If you're west of these, I'm sure your doc can find one equally as good, if he just bothers to. Search the net for top-rated hospitals and find one in your area.

Be persistent with your favorite doc! It's your body and your life and you have every right to be treated with the best medical services available! Good Luck.

blepharospasm is a symptom not a disease, and it is seen in several disease processes, had you included some of your other symptoms, I might have taken a stab at your question, but as it stands it would just be a shot in the dark, which it would seem is what the physicians you have seen have been doing. Have you considered a group conference to pool knowledge and brainstorm?

I will try to answer the question if you present some of the symptoms you are experiencing. You totally left them out of your request. Leaving nothing to go on.
