Well i have the disease. But i'm actually thinking what causes the form of it. A couple months before I started having symptons of this disease, i got stung by something on my hip. The area got all purple and swelled. I think this is what caused my disease. Because just a couple weeks ago i got stung on the foot and now my foot hurts like my hip does. What do you people think?

Perthes disease involves the head of the femur, the ball of the ball and socket hip joint. The blood supply to the femoral head is cut off and the ball shape disfigures. With good treatment it can re-vascularize.

About a decade ago some hematologists and pediatric orthopedists hypothesized that Perthes disease was caused by a clotting disorder that impeded blood flow to the head of the femur.

Bee stings have been known to cause clotting abnormalities, but I think it is a very long stretch to say that your condition was caused by a bee sting. Now if you got Freiberg's infraction, a similar condition to Perthes, I would be less sceptical. But really, we're close to pseudo-science here.
