If I were you I would join thr Navy program in Highschool, NavyNJROTC. If you start there if you go into the Navy you will have an advantage over someone who does not enroll in into the ROTC. The Navy has some great schools that will help you. I spent time in the U.S. navy from 1963 to 1965. great experience. I really respected those Medivac guys. Go for it kid.

All Navy Helo Pilots are Officers. they are considered AVIATION and not Medical. The competition to fly is extremely intense and you really don't have a say in what aircraft you get.

You could end up fixed wing, or you could end up as combat aircraft. or you could get lucky and get Helos. NOT all Helos are CSAR platforms however.

If you wanna guarantee being a Helo Pilot.. then Go Army. Their Warrant Program exclusively is Helos. youalso do not need a 4 year degree, you can go in directly from High School. They also tend to have more CSAR platforms as they have a larger need for them.

if you wanna fly you'd have to be an officer. you can either enlist, work hard and get commissioned later OR you can go to school and get commissioned then join. it's up to you. either way, the Navy sounds like the place for you. If that's the job you want in the civilian sector then you should go ahead and DEP in soon so you can be put on the list for corpsman. The pilots of those are EMT's too.

Be a corpsman...they are medics in the navy that assist the marines..its a naval position. I don't know if they have helecopter positions like that. You should call a recruiter and ask him and he can give you more details..but corpsman is great for medical.

By the way the pilots are not medical personnel....they are in a more aviation inclined career so think of that.

As mentioned, to fly you are going to have to be an officer. Part of that package is obtaining a college degree. You need to start moving over to the college bound classes at your high school and planning for the next 4 years of college.

you better contact the recruiters...tell them what you have planned and ask them how to proceed...they will tell you what to do.
