It IS worth it. I think it hurt more than the other shots. Except everytime I went back (you have to get three of them, about six months apart), I would think "Well, the last time it didn't hurt that much". And the nurse would stick the needle in and I would think "See? It doesn't hurt that much...... NO! OH MY GOD! THAT HURTS!" It always hurts more once they put it into the muscle, and then taking it out hurts a ton.
But unlike your tetnis shot, it won't hurt for days afterward.
Would you rather go through the pain of chemotherapy, or get a shot that hurts for ten seconds? It's your choice. The shot won't kill you, cancer will.

I've had the first two shots, and they're not bad. You get three shots over a 6 month period. The shot itself is just a quick pinch. You can have a little ache in your arm for a few hours after, just like with any shot, but the slight pain is worth it. The shot is a vaccine for HPV, which can cause cervical cancer, and I would much rather have a couple of shots than to have to have my cervix and uterus removed and go through chemotherapy 10 years from now.

GRADASIL - the new vaccine for Cervix Cancer is most effective and easy method of prevention of Ca of Cx. It does not give any pain and you have to take 2 times.
Cervical cancer is one of the most common cancers that affect a woman's reproductive organs. Various strains of the human papillomavirus (HPV), a sexually transmitted infection, play a role in causing most cases of cervical cancer.
When exposed to HPV, a woman's immune system typically prevents the virus from doing harm. In a small group of women, however, the virus survives for years before it eventually converts some cells on the surface of the cervix into cancer cells. Half of cervical cancer cases occur in women between ages 35 and 55.
Get VACCINATED against HPV
A new vaccine called Gardasil offers protection from the most dangerous types of HPV — the virus that causes most cervical cancers. The national Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommends routine vaccination for girls ages 11 and 12, as well as girls and women ages 13 to 26 if they haven't received the vaccine already. The vaccine is most effective if given to girls before they become sexually active.
Although the vaccine could prevent up to 70 percent of cervical cancer cases, it can't prevent infection with every virus that causes cervical cancer. Routine Pap tests to screen for cervical cancer remain important.-

i'm assuming you're bearing on the Gardasil shot? if so, then you certainly shouldn't subject! I had the shot regime accomplished (i've got confidence you get 3 pictures interior of a year for a whole regime), and it wasn't all that painful. it is totally like the different shot you get on your arm. i might learn it to the flu shot. It generally takes approximately 3 seconds and then it is over! definite, the prick hurts, besides the fact that it happens so without postpone. I did have some soreness in my shoulder on the injection internet site for an afternoon or 2, besides the fact that it wasn't something painful. all of us is distinctive! some might experience that's greater painful than others, yet i did no longer think of it replaced into too undesirable. in case you experience any substantial soreness, purely tell your healthcare expert. you may many times numb the area with ice to alleviate the soreness.

When the needle goes in you don't feel it, but when the vaccine is injected it stings a little bit. I had my first one monday, then the seconds one will come in 2 months and then another 4 months after that.
