Thoughtless to the extreme.
In the future, I would ALWAYS pack a lunch and not be beholden to someone else

Your inlaws are part of your family now, so you can't really risk having conflicts like that...Next time, just pack a few bags of snacks/sandwiches that you can eat whenever you feel you must eat, this way, it doesn't become too much of a problem... then, in the same way, explain to them, or have your husband (b/c sometimes they listen to their own son better) explain to them that it is a medical condition that causes you to have a strict planned meal times. Have him explain to them what happens if you miss a meal, etc. After you get your husband to explain to his parents about your condition, I'm sure they'll be more considerate with the time they serve dinner. (Specially the mother) -Good luck.

Devil's Advocate: Since it always happens, why don't you eat before you leave to go with them and keep some granola bars or something like that in your purse?
Anyway, do you tell them you just get shaky, or have you actually explained to them what the real issue is? EVERYONE that I spend time with understands that I have major issues when it comes to not eating in a timely fashion because I told them about it, I didn't just say "I get shaky". You need to sit them down and talk to them about it. Eat before you go out with them. It is better for your health to be "rude" and not be able to eat when they do finally get food in a timely fashion because you already had food then it is to just hope that this time they will get something to eat when you need it.

If you are really having this big an issue with eating you should carry something with you. What if you got stuck in traffic or for some reason you were unable to get something to eat. I don't care where you are going if you have a serious condition you should be prepared. Having low BS can cause serious problems! However I do not think that is your in-laws problem IT IS YOURS so deal like everybody else.

It seems like your blood sugar gets too low.
Since this is something that happens frequently you should prepare yourself for it. Carry around snacks so that you can have some, if you have to wait for a meal.
With regards to your in-laws, its best to have a good relationship with them. When things are tense with the in-laws...it tends to radiate to your relationship.
My advice? Pack some snacks ... plan ahead. If that is the extent of your problem with your in-laws..consider yourself lucky!

I can't believe that you would consider this to be rude or totally inconsiderate behaviour by your FIL.
You're obviously old enough to be married. That position requires some sort of responsibility on your behalf - so how about start being responsible for your own actions.
Or do you prefer to make a martyr of yourself so that you have reason to feel sorry for yourself & have something to complain about?

If this always happens...
you're an adult, you know you get shaky...pack a snack...it's pretty simple, be responsible for yourself and don't depend on someone else when you know you need to eat

Sounds like you folks just have different lifestyles. I myself don't eat dinner until midnight or 1am when I get off of work! It would be more fair and easier for you to conform to their lifestyle than to have them conform to yours (2 of them, 1 of you). The simple solution is to have emergency in-law snacks! Just pack granola bars, trail mix, meal replacement bars, etc... every time you visit them. Ain't that easy?!

wow that is soo mean, especially since you had already told them. do they not like you? it seems like they really don't care and are trying to push you out of the family or maybe they are just really ignorant. i get shaky too and i always bring a few power or granola bars along with me. or you can sit them down and calmly hammer your point into there heads and hope it sticks, i mean it is your health you're talking about. good luck

Start taking a snack with you. If they complain let them know that you have to eat at a resonable time. They will either change their ways or not.
