Chives are an herb with a subtle onion flavor. They grow tall, are green and wonderful as an accent or a garnish.

Scallions are baby green onions. A mild flavor, but with a definite 'bulb' at the end like regular onions only much smaller, of course. The green ends are usually used and are similar in look and taste to the chive.

scallions, green onions and spring onions are all the same thing, young immature onions, but chives are an herb that looks like grass but is oniony in flavor and very good when chopped and added to foods.........
