Sinning is a concept identified by Christians. The Old Testament makes many references to gambling as a way of deciding God's will in matters as serious as trials and executions. The New Testament refers to gambling as a sin one time.
To answer if gambling is a sin, you have to identify what a sin is. Personally I don't believe that God cares if I get together with my friends on the weekend to play some poker. I also don't think God cares if I invest my savings in the stock market, or if I go bungee jumping off The Mirage. Trust me, the latter two are a much greater risk.
To ask if gambling is a sin assumes that sinning exists, which is a pretty close minded concept that only a small percentage of the world actually gives a **** about.
Anybody who says gambling is sin is as ignorant as the donkey they rode in on. Ask the Indians which is a bigger sin, doubling down an a hard twelve or raping a pillaging an entire race of people.

Gambling is a sin to a Muslim. It is forbidden.
The Christian view on gambling is that it is okay so long as it is not out of control, etc. Catholic churches are famous for hosting bingo gambling games. Churches have also hosted Las Vegas routlette nights and things like that.
So no, to a Christian, gambling is not specifically a sin...but of course it could be a problem. For example, if you took your paycheck, meant to pay bills, and gambled with it and lost and got into debt over your head. It is a problem more than it is a sin.
The Book of Revelations mentions several types of sinners who are doomed to being left outside the walls of Paradise, but they do not incude gamblers.

Life is a gamble. Life is sin filled. The answer is therefore, YES! By the way I am THE AMERICAN SINNER/SAINT (GAMBLER)!!!! They parted his garments and for his raiments they did cast lots. Or was it the other way around? Anyway you get the idea. I think since he just gave his all for our sins, he probably would have approved. NOT! Seriously, what's not a sin?

Squandering gods gifts is a sin. Gambling squanders gods gifts.
Of course... one might argue that the apostles cast lots to see who would replace Judas among the 12 after his death....
Of course, the apostles were wrong quite a bit in the New Testament...

It is a sin if you are doing it to earn money or to get out of a finance issue! If it is for enjoyment, then it is not a sin!

In my opinion, yes. Wasting a resource like money that takes hours of hard work to accumulate and can provide necessities for yourself and others. It is at the very least an enormous waste of money AND time.

As long as it is done purely out of entertainment it is not a sin. It is a sin if you are doing it out of greed (to get rich), cheating (lying), or it is excessive (i.e. hurts your family or others).
