it really is cheaper to cook than to go out to eat everyday. if you trade the gas it takes to go out to eat for the electricity you use that expense balances out. If you buy in bulk and portion it out in your freezer you can buy a weeks worth of groceries for one person between $20-$40.

Depends on what you like to eat.and drink. Just look to the cost of a soft drink with your meal. If you buy it in the store it's about 3.00 for a two liters, it you buy it at a restaurant it's not less than a 1.00 a glass. When you eat you you have to tip. I think in the long run it's better to cook, and only eat out once in awhile

Depends on what you eat. You might find that eating out is cheaper, but think about what they are putting in. Might not be all that healthy.

Sure, if you decide to cook with expensive ingredients, you might as well eat out. But if you pick the right ingredients, it can really save you money.

yes it would be cheaper to eat fast-food in most cases but eating out is very unhealthy especially fast food. You need good home cooking every once in awhile. Find a good cereal for breakfast, differnt kinds of sandwhich meat for lunch, a snack bt lunch and dinner( i love cheez-its!) and a good home cooked meal for supper.

There are pros and cons for both eating in and eating out.

Pros:

Eating in - HEALTHIER CHOICE! You get to cook healthy and according to your preference and taste.. more spice, less salt and oil etc.

Eating out - CONVENIENCE! No hassle of going grocery shopping, thinking what to cook, preparation time etc

You can save time and have a whole range of food available at your finger tips.

Cons:
Eating in - Lot of time taken in grocery shopping, preparation, and is more expensive that eating out.

Eating out - Not healthy and we do not know how hygienically the food was prepared or how fresh the food is. Most of the food might be frozen and alot of food enhancers might be used.

My personal choice is to eat in. Although it is more expensive than eating out, I get to shop for the fresh ingredients and prepare it in a very hygienic and healthy way for my loved ones.

Hello:

It is much cheaper to eat at home than to go out to eat all of the time! I plan my meals from week to week and then I make out a budget and I stick to that budget. We try to eat as healthy as we can,but there are some nights where we have to have a frozen pizza,or macaroni and cheese because our lives are so busy and hectic.

Did you know,I figured it out and if we as a family ate out more than we ate at home,it would cost us over $200.00 a month,I am not kidding! I like eating at home better anyway, because you can tailor your meals, and you can add or delete any ingredients that you like or dislike out of the dishes you are preparing!

Yes, it is cheaper to eat at home because you don't have to pay tax & tip like you would when you dine out.

The other factor is that you don't have to drive & park, make reservations, wait for the food to be prepared & served. These considerations offset the time needed to cook at home.

shoot, just calculate in the price of gas and how outrageous it is and then you'll have no doubt that eating at home is cheaper.

One word: Costco

Buy wisely, and in bulk when possible, and it becomes much cheaper to prepare your own.
