you are safe to take something else. Ibuprofen is good for cramps, and that is not acetaminophen. you can actually alternate taking the 2. you do not have to wait 24 hours, 8 hours is correct. Read your labels. There is a toxic level, but taking 2 pills every 8 hours your not gonna reach it.
Hope you feel better

The short answer - yes you can take EITHER acetaminophen OR ibuprofen now to help with your cramps.
For future reference, when taking a medication that has a warning about mixing with another, this is in effect for as long as the first medication is in your system (normally the amount of time recommended between doses). For instance, Tylenol cold can be taken every 4-6 hours, so its probably mostly out of your system by 6 hours after taking it. Therefore, you shouldn't take any acetaminophen products in that 6 hour period. After that, you should be fine. I like to give an extra hour just to be sure, but that's being overly careful.
Hope you feel better soon.

Check the ingredients. Tylenol Cold sounds like a combination drug, and has Acetaminophen in it. The reason they put the warning on the label on is so you don't take more Acetaminophen and accidentally overdose. So basically the label means "don't take more Acetaminophen, you are already taking enough just by taking the Tylenol cold"
Since it has been 24 hours, I would say taking acetominophen is safe.
P.S. The maximum dose for Acetaminophen is 4000 mg in one day. Drinking alcohol with acetaminophen is strongly warned against. If you drink alcohol, do not have more than one serving of alcohol that day and only take a maximum dose of 2000 mg Acetaminophen per day.

It's simple - just don't exceed 4 grams (4000mg) of Acetaminophen / Paracetamol in 24 hours, and keep each individual dose at least 6 hours apart. Amounts greater than that are toxic to the liver. Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen can be taken at the same time, the daily limit for ibuprofen in 3200mg/24 hours. It's not wise to take the max of both, as it will probably cause stomach discomfort.

I think it is okay for you after 24 hours to take acetaminophen or ibuprofen or midol. Just don't take all three right now. I would recommend ibuprofen for cramps, it is stronger and works faster than acetaminophen.

Don't ever believe the lies and propaganda that the pharmaceutical drug cartels purvey on the TV each day. All the preparations containing acetaminophen (such as Tylenol) are dangerous to your health and you will eventually have far worse illnesses than what you are trying to treat. The U.S.A. has the most unhealthy populace in the world, expressly because of conventional medicine, pharmaceutical toxic/synthetic drugs, and the processed food that are sold in the conventional supermarkets. If you truly want good health, eat whole foods, and don't take toxic pharmaceutical drugs. The drug companies and conventional medicine are all about money, and certainly not about your good health.

read the package again. those meds usually last only 8 hrs. you're fine to take something else now, just don't take more of the tylenol at the same time.ibuprofin works better on cramps and midol works even better.
