christians say: If you dont believe/love god you will be punish and bla bla...
i dont love god, and since i cannot force myself to love anyone i dont think i will ever love him, i can read the bible 20 times and repeat to myslef how much i love god 5000 times every day (what a waste by the way) but i dont think the result from that could be called "love"...
So what , apart from parents telling you how much you need to love god otherwise he will punish you and send a thunder to fry you, or a desperate and miserable life one needs to fill with whatever may bring a bit of hope, can make one all of sudden start loving god????

Faith is a personal internal thing..

God's grace is given freely to all but one must be willing to listen to complement "talking" in terms of sending prayers to God. Both forms of prayer are valid and very important.

You might read about "Centering Prayer" and give it a try.

Part of loving God is appreciating the wonderful things around you and cultivating a "loving personality" per the teachings of Christ. Sometimes in our fast paced and brutal world that is difficult to understand and achieve.

It is so easy nowadays to hear hatred spewed by a few people and generalize that the hatred represents everyone and everything in the world.. And then let that perception harden one's heart.. This is a typical human reaction.

This is where a consistant prayer life is important. Holy religious people whether Catholic monks (Benedictine/Cistercian/Trappist) or devout Muslim people praying 5 times a day know this..

But like many things in life, maintaining one's faith and cultivating a personal prayer life takes work and dedication.

Count your blessings, count the miracles of life around you including any new babies among your family members or friends and you will see God..

A Catholic..

No. I have no belief in god. I sure can't force myself to believe in him. The whole idea of god makes no sense to me.

I think it's entirely possible to believe on the basis of what you wish were true (or fear might be true) rather than what is indicated by reason and evidence. Indeed, I think that's exactly what most theists do.

No it isn`t possible. No one can make you love, like, or hate anything.. You can NOT force yourself to FEEL anything..

However, What you don`t seem to get is : You are right. he doesn`t exist.... FOR YOU..

He only acts according to YOUR faith. No faith, results in, no actions. He doesn`t even see you. To him you are already dead.

So you are right. he doesn`t exist. FOR YOU.. Pity..

{:-) Peace & God bless from Texas. <><

Did your parents force you to go to church?
