Also is non-denominational Christianity considered Protestant? I ask because some non-denominational Christians will say yeah they are Protestants and some will say no their not Protestant.

The church I attend is non-denominational. I guess it's Christianity in it's most basic form. Our views are based upon the Bible. It's not Protestant, nor do we practice Catholicism.

More or less by definition, none of them. The churches I've attended over the last 20 years have almost all been non-denominational. All that means is that they're independent of any Earthly higher organization. There are loose groups of non-denominational churches - many of them following generally the principles of the Plymouth Bretheren - but there is no overarching authority.

As to whether they're Protestant or not, I think that's up to the individual group. The ones I've attended have all been Protestant. I don't see how it could be otherwise - if you're Christian and you're not Catholic, you pretty much fall into the Protestant category, whatever your other beliefs.

The majority of non-denominational churches hold Protestant theological beliefs (the five solas) but often do not specifically identify themselves as Protestant.

Protestant in it's most general term means "non-Catholic", so any non-denominational church could be labeled Protestant in that aspect. I've never heard of a non-denominational Catholic, and due to the very nature and organization of the Catholic church, that would not make much sense.

As a general rule; non-denominations are Protestant. There may be 'exceptions to the rule' out there though. FYI, Mormons do not consider themselves Catholic or Protestant (based on my past comuniques with them).

Denominational Christianity, including the denominations of Catholicism and Orthodox Christianity, are characterized as basis their view of Christianity upon the teachings of one or more post-Biblical theologians whom they practically reckon as infallible.

Truly non-denomination Christianity does not do so, but basis their view of Christianity upon the Bible alone.

Many, if not most, non-denominational churches are actually denominational.
