I'm attending a 55th class re-union and will be staying with and be being entertained by a classmate I have not seen in 50 years! I would like to take them a nice (very nice) gift. I don't know if they still drink, so wine is out. I don't know what their eating habits are (they may now be vegitarians). So one of our fabulous Kentucky hams might not be appropriate. I'm arriving on a Sunday, so florists will probably not be open. Any sugestions in the $100 to $200 range. Thank you.

If you really don't know them well you might want to wait until you get there to make a decision. I don't usually come with the hostess gift. I find something for them while visiting or send something special after. I always take them out for a dinner. It's so much easier to make the right choice after you have spent a little time with people.

Take them out to a restaurant of their choice on your first night there. Money spent on a dinner with them would be well spent. You can get to reconnect and know them better at the dinner where you are sitting facing each other and leisurely enjoy your dinner.

Give them a nice thank you card, with a gift card or a couple of them in it...one to walmart one to a restaurant nearby. Or maybe an open ended plane ticket.

Take them out to dinner on your last night with them. If you must have a gift for them, I suggest maybe, a pewter photo frame would be lovely. I am sure they will find a use for it (who wouldn't need an additional frame?
